Bet three of them on the third favorite in the featured race at any major track.
Give two to two different homeless fellows.
Spend the rest anywhere you choose outside a casino.
Ask yourself why you want to throw away your money.
Otherwise I think playing $33 on three numbers in European roulette is a strong contender for best play.
Quote: Mikey75If you where going to try to turn 100 into 1000 in a casino what game would you play to feel like you had the best chance of doing so? Anyone ever done anything close to this before?...
The closest I've come is turning $1000 in to $100...hehe...
Actually, I've run $60 from sitting through a timeshare presentation into $2200 on the Craps table on the way out. You can try a European wheel, but it won't be 1/32nd the fun.
Get it up to $1280, take it down and walk away. Pocket the $1,000 profit and be sure to tip me for my consulting on this matter ($280 will work).
Edit: I think that'd be the most fun way. Make a $5 bet and let it ride. Or do a $6 6/8 and keep pressing. Or bet wherever else ya want to....blackjack....craps pass/don't-pass.....roulette 1:1 or 2:1 payouts.
Quote: RS$5 in the field, let it ride. To be successful, need 8 fields in a row of 1:1 payouts. If you add in a 2 or 12 for 2:1 or 3:1, somewhat increases your chance of success. With only 1:1 payouts, you have a 1/656 chance of success per $5 bet....and you can do that 20 times.

I don't know if I have ever seen that many field rolls in a row but I have seen that many reds or blacks roll in roulette back to back. Matter of fact seems like it happens a couple of times it trip. Usually showing on the board just before I decide to sit down and play!!
Check back tomorrow and I'll share a story ;-)

Next best would be a 100% video poker game at the 25-cent level hoping for a royal before losing $100. If not that, then a 9-6 bonus delux poker machine at the $2 level where any four of a kind pays back $800. Then find another way to make up the rest.
You will win $900 at least 10% of the time.

I just tried the field parlay on the WOV craps game. I made it to the last hit and lost lol.
Or learn how to toss the dice.

Let's say you're an AP and you find yourself in a casino that has some really good promotion going on. Unfortunately, you're underfunded for the promotion. Maybe you have $2k on you but you need $10k in order to play the promo and would absolutely not be able to play the promo without $10k. If you play the promo, it's worth $15k (or some other arbitrary value). There's no way to get money to you in time. What do you do?
Do you take the $2k you have, gamble with it, try to get it to $10k, then be able to attack the promotion?
Do you say "too bad so sad" and not play the promo?
Take a huge risk with the $2k and try to play the promo with that, even though you'd be severely underfunded (and only gain value once you "complete" the promo (like do $100K coin in on 7/5 TDB and get a huge amount in FP back....but you only get the FP if you do all 100k coin in).
I don't know what I would do in that kind of situation, but I'm sure there are cases where taking the $2k you have and trying to bring it up to $10k can be the correct play. I'd think playing craps would be the best way....maybe laying the 4 or 10 and letting it ride (2k to pay 1k, 3k to pay 1.5k, 4.5k to pay 2.25k, 6.7k to win 3.3k)...or making a PL/DP with max odds.

RS I hesitated to ask this question because I didn't think it would be well received here at all. However I genuinely wanted some suggestions. I'm not a AP. However I do try to stick to lower edge games. I play for small stakes at typically $5 minimum tables. I usually lose a small amount at the end of my two to three night stay. Any wins I have booked are always under $100.
I plan on being in Tunica next weekend and I have been playing with the idea of trying to take a shot at turning 100 into something more substantial. I think craps is the way to go. I've been playing craps very conservatively usually placing a small don't pass or don't come bet. Last few times I have been slaughtered doing that. I've been playing with a variation of a iron cross strategy just to see what my chances are of actually getting somewhere. I know the field bet is not a great bet but it's a bet I really like. Haven't played it very often at all lately but if I break from my don't pass play I will usually drop a nickel on the field. The field is 2x for 2 and 3x for 12 so it is the best odds available for field play.
I'll make this next trip with a $400 to $500 gambling bankroll. I think I'll break out of my usual play and set aside a $100 for $1000 or bust play. More than likely it will be bust. I seriously doubt I can push enough to turn it into $1000 anyway. If I get to $200 or $300 I'll be wanting to take the money and run!!
the best any could do, except God who knows, playing a fair game, and you can't,Quote: Mikey75More than likely it will be bust. I seriously doubt I can push enough to turn it into $1000 anyway. If I get to $200 or $300 I'll be wanting to take the money and run!!
turning 100 into 1000 is 100/1000 = 10% = 1 in 10
i say more close to 8.5% or 1 in 12 ($5 pass wit 345x odds)
so I also agree that you are going to bust.
but only $100
for some that is peanuts
have fun like me!
thank you for sharing

People win in the casino everyday, $100 to $1000 is not all that uncommon.
Unfortunately, alot more people lose, and the Joint can stay in business even if they are just mediocre operators.
I can't tell you the best game, I don't play enough different ones.
Can't tell you the odds cause I'm not a math guy, and also can't remember most of the ones I've read ;-)
I can tell you I turned $150 into $8400 at a $15 BJ table in March. Took 7 or 8 hours.
True story.
But true stories can be tricky.
The whole story is I turned $9000 into that $150 first, which took 5 or 6 hours, which is sad. So I lost $600 overall. But that is just the actual win/loss, also cashed in $1800 in vouchers so I went home $1200 ahead. Just good basic strategy BJ. All just strange variance/luck. My game always seems to run like a roller coaster, an adrenaline addicted one.
There is a trip report about that night. Probably the only thread I started in March.
Good variance/luck on your upcoming trip!
<edit> well now. Apparently I didn't post that trip report in March, just meant to. Or couldn't find it today to add a link. But I did write it, had emailed it, so just did a quick cut and paste and post. So look in Recent Threads ;-)
Not quite that, but a couple months ago, I sat down to play MS Stud (2nd time ever) with $200, and cashed out $1000. Of course, when I sat at the MS Stud table the next day, I bought in for $200 again and lost it all without winning a single hand!Quote: TwoFeathersATLMikey,

Would you be up for putting the whole $100 in the Field? You'd only need 4 field rolls in a row; 3 if the 2 or 12 showed up.Quote: Mikey75I just tried the field parlay on the WOV craps game. I made it to the last hit and lost lol.
Actually, if you only bet $65, four double-up wins in a row would put you at $1040. If that fails, put the remaining $35 in the Field and try for 5 in a row.

Put $1000 bets on corner in roulette. You have a four in 37 chance of winning $23,000. If it loses, bet it all on a hard eight on the craps table. You have a one in 11 chance of winning $24,000. Or about a 19% chance of turning $2,000 into at least $25,000
Lots of more complicated ways that would be slightly better. Pretty much any bet you make has major +EV
I feel sure that doesn't read out here the way you meant for it to. Even with the snip for brevity.Quote: TomG

That totally confused me. I didn't realize you were adding in the $15k in EV to the roulette/craps wagers initially...then I was like, "Wait...wouldn't just playing that straight up be huge +EV??" Then it hit me.
Does the Horseshoe still have 100x odds? If so, how about this: Bet either 1% of your bankroll or the table min (whichever is greater) on the Pass Line, and when a point is rolled, bet the remainder of your br as odds for the point. Repeat until $1,000. You only need 3 or 4 points in a row (depending on which points are made) to reach your goal.
I'm not sure if I would have the nerve to try this, but I think it will give you the best shot (i.e. lowest HE) to reach your goal.
I've seen this bet hit almost every time I've played at least once. (A guy hit it once with $25 on each bet but that's another story). The only time I play it is when my wife rolls. She has hit it multiple times and hits either all small or all tall regularly.
I know the side bet is not a good bet, but what I'm attempting to do is not very rational either. I'm thinking about trying out my $100 on the ATS bet and hoping I get a hit within the 6 shots I have. If I don't I will still have $10 to build back to $100. I have done that on more than one occasion.
Quote: Mikey75I think I'm going to take a shot at this when head to Tunica. Looks like I'll be trying it out on the craps table. Anyone have any specific strategies they would use on the craps table to accomplish this?
Depending on starting amount of money, win goal, how long you want to be at the table, etc.
Turning $100 into $1k, best shot is probably a $67 yo...if it fails then a $33 twelve. Of course, that's not super fun, though, and likely to last only 2 rolls.
When it does work, I got faith in Mikey, I assume the next question will be how to best turn 1K into 10K.
And then 10K into 100K.
Same advice would still apply?
If not, why not?
GL and have a blast!
The Banker bet wins with more frequency than any other bet in the casino.
I once turned a $150 buy-in into $2,400 betting Banker an using Labouchere over a few sessions.
It took far less sessions to give it all back.
I would love to hear the plan of attack! Which option are you going to go with and how? What day can we expect to hear the results? =)Quote: Mikey75Rolled in last night. I'll probably wait till the last day to try this.
$5 pass line bet. When the point is established place a $25 don't come bet. When the dc gets place then place the four numbers left with a min bet. Add a min odds bet to the pass line. The place a min come bet. The most money you can lose is if your dc number hits. Hopefully you will get a few hits and then the 7 will roll and your dc wins as well.
I took $100 to $900 playing this way on a FREE craps game online. I highlight FREE because nothing I've ever done on a FREE game translates well to a live table. I've turned a $100 into $500 plus multiple times playing this way in test games. I've also lost the $100 multiple times without winning anything as well.
Anyway not a system I recommend or think will get the win. Just something different to spread some chips around the table and take $100 and bet outside of my normal zone. I'm confident I'll lose the money but maybe in the process I'll have a story to tell!!
Yea, that's what she said......
