Hard to believe some people are getting away
with this ancient roulette move in today's
casino surveillance environment.

So when the H-roller was talking to the pit about the missing chip and the pit got on the horn with the eye he never headed for the exit? Hmm!

They use regular chips at the Roulette table in France ? How do they keep track of all the bets ?
Assume the worst, believe no one, and make your move only when you are certain that you are unbeatable or have, at worst, exceptionally good odds in your favor.

This seems like a painful and dangerous way to make $5 every other spin? Even considering ploppies, the majority of people I've seen bet a set list of numbers, or at least know what they're betting. I would presume once per night (at least) someone would complain about they thought they bet a winning number. Once per night to be charged with a felony... Hmmm, probably not a good idea all around ;-).
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

Pretty sure Richard is a member here, though hasn't posted in a while. Tone down the insulting characterizations, please. Thank you.

No idea that he is or was.

Again, I was insulted once, complained and you said nothing. I'm again asking YOU to step down!

I'm having a great day :-) Catching up on WSOP events from this past weekend.

I suspect she confused R. Marcus with R. Munchkin who has 2 posts from a few years ago. No Richard Marcus in the profiles. No big deal. I just don't like being called out on something without checking facts.

I'm glad you're good. Maybe she is having a bad day, it happens to most of us.
Patience is virtuous.

I was worried you might have been on a machine over an hour already w/o a dealt sequential Royal in Diamonds and were getting antsy ;-!

I recently read a book about Monte Carlo and the casino there, and the author said the dealers were just really really good at memorizing who placed what bet where. This book was written in the 30's, though, so I don't know how true that was then, let alone now.

How is calling someone who brags about being a cheater a cheat anywhere close to an insult.
The difference between fiction and reality is that fiction is supposed to make sense.

It was the "clown" comment. I have no clue if he's a member here, and if I did know for sure, I wouldn't have used it. I do follow the posted rules. That said, calling him what I did doesn't mean I don't like the guy. I've called close friends a lot worse.

Back to the article though. That post makes him lose a lot of credibility and I now even doubt many of his cheating claims. Starting to think it's made up to sell his game protection services.

If I had just paid attention, I should be able to answer this point. Unfortunately, on my only visit ever to Monte Carlo, I only played BJ. While roulette was offered at the next table, I hardly even looked. Not closely enough to remember now whether there was a 00 on the wheel or what kind of chips were in play. Might not have even noticed at the time.

I was in Monte Carlo once and was amazed at how they could keep track of all of the bets at a BIG roulette table. I believe the key is that there is a supervisor who sits on a tall chair like a tennis umpire and observes the action from above. Everyone uses the same chips and if I remember correctly the dealers pass the winnings to the players using those long paddles that you may have seen dealers use at big Bac games to pass the cards to the players. I can't imagine there ever being an argument over a payout since these casinos are some of quietest places on earth. I played a 45 minute craps hand in London once and you would not have known what was going on at the tables since it was so quiet.

I rarely come here anymore and realize
this is why. The attitude is so often

not worth my time to wade thru all
the crap.
