What a difference it's made, opening up a whole new world of opportunities.
I was blinded by Caesars & all there locations. I haven't earned 1 tier credit with them this year. My email box is flooded with offers but I refuse to use any. BTW I was a Seven Star player ever year.
I still eat well, see shows, and now get boxing tickets. So there is life after Caesars wish I had woken up sooner
I think you are still blinded, you just dont know it. IMO CET is the lesser of two evils. And if you do it right CET is far far better.Quote: LoneStarHorseFor the past 9 years I gambled 95% of the time only at Caesars properties. This year I've switched and now only play WYNN & MGM Grand.

In other words, good for you, but I'm not worth enough to make a similar jump. Also, I enjoy being able to play at other casinos and have it actually count. I wasted years at MGM (NYNY) before I realized this small detail, their entire program is a lie.
Quote: ahiromuConsidering 7* and boxing tickets, I get the feeling that LoneStarHorse is someone who was getting well below his comp balance every trip. Isn't Wynn a somewhat expensive room to make up for? And MGM is renowned for shoving its Profit Growth Plan in the face of their customers. 7* can traditionally go anywhere they want and have a great time I'd imagine.

I jumped from MGM when I was at Mirage and sat down at $10 BJ. I threw my card on the table with my cash and was laughed at. Pit was standing there and said they don't care about my card for under $25. He gave me the chips, I pushed them right back and said, "color me up. If you don't care about my card, then why the hell should I care to spend money in your pit."
WYNN has been very good to me, lovely suites, food, more than I ask for.
MGM has properties in other states which I like, since we love to travel.

It's funny how my view of Vegas has evolved to this. If I'm not going to get back my 30% (closer to 60-70% TBH), then I have no reason to play there.
Quote: ahiromuYeah, it really comes down to where you fall on the economic ladder and what you're looking for. If I could stay at Wynn/MGM and get what I'm getting at Caesar's, I'd be happy to spend some time there, but I just can't get back my 30-40% from them. Well, maybe, Wynn dropping odds down to 2x is an a-hole move.

I know for sure that my view of gambling in Vegas has changed over the last 5 years. Now in PA with great BJ rules, good craps rules, and decent casinos vegas hasn't become a gambling destination for us. 10 years ago when we went to Vegas it was all about gambling, partying, and having fun. Now it is about relaxing and having fun with a touch of gaming. Not sure if it is the wide spread legalization of casinos or me getting older.
At my level of play, the difference is minor...if I played at a higher level, suites and great food comps could change the equation.
More than comps, I just want a happy place in Vegas...
I think it really depends a lot on what you play, and also individual circumstances dictating what is valuable to you to get from them. For example, access to the Diamond Lounges in Las Vegas is trivial to me (I'd pay maybe about $1.50 once a month tops in real money for that perk), as is the existence of their regional casinos in other markets, and I used the show tickets exactly once as a treat for family that was visiting, while the frequent room comps I was getting were very useful even though I don't live far away and I can and do regularly commute into the valley of sin. Others would have opposite or at least a different set of priorities.
Several years ago they made some major changes in how some things are counted in the Total Rewards system (the Tier Credit rate given for live cash game poker play being one major example), and also in the thresholds and real practical meaning of the tiers, and also created tiers within a tier for Diamond. Around the same time it seems apparent they also changed some factors used in the algorithm for who is offered comped or heavily discounted rooms, and how often. I was already a bit annoyed with them for other reasons (including poor maintenance at the properties I'd need to be at the most & game control in at least some poker rooms & the highest rake in this market & some aspects of customer service in properties that are most useful to me in what I do). I find that all places have their own advantages and drawbacks. But the annoyance level crept up and up, then the changes they made significantly reduced the positive benefit side of the ledger for me and for a lot of others I know who do similar things.
But I understand some of those changes didn't necessarily affect people the same in other circumstances or living in other places or who do other things in their casinos. So there you go, where you stand depends on where you sit. For me and others I know, they are still fired. It is well and good that the system still works well for others. I think they should milk the bejeesus out of it while the milking is good for them, while not letting themselves feel completely wedded to anyone as "their" casino. Because things will change, again, in some other way. Because they always do. Everywhere. Date casinos; don't marry them. They don't love you, and won't be faithful.

Great line! I have no faith in MLife; just the old "happy wife, happy life" thing with Aria. Once she tires of that (or I do research and find as nice of a workout room and other features she likes), we'll move on.
Her requirements are fairly simple:
--workout room with those monitors that make it look like you are running somewhere else
--decent pool
--drinks served in glass
--fresh orange juice in screwdrivers
--slot machines
I am think Encore/Wynn has all those things based on staying there once (not sure about workout room), but she felt they (staff overall) were snobbish and liked the Aria people better.

For right now, I am "invested" in the CZR chain. It works for me (now) in terms of comped rooms, Diamond Lounges, and Diamond Show Tix, the things that I value. We have a friend that has taken the MGM route, and that seems to work for her, too. So I am sure there are pros and cons regardless of the approach you take.
You know, I do completely different things than what's on your/her list, but it has been really noticeable to me that even though it is a high-end flagship resort for the company, Aria is also a place for me that seems to have somehow indoctrinated or hired for better than average customer attitudes from their staff. In the corner of Aria I spend time in, I almost never run into the infamous snarling "wish you would die so you wouldn't inconvenience me with your dirty little money" attitude that seems to be standard equipment in some places.Quote: RonC...<SNIP>...

Unfortunately, at a level above them the company has now sent me a go away message, in the form of brand new machines demanding money at the exit doors & requiring jumping through extra hoops to let me park there and scuff up their carpet and leave. But that might not affect you, or matter as much if it does.
See: "Don't marry 'your' casino."
I have "heard" a lot on VMB about their hosts (talking Aria hosts) are not as good to them in comps or in responding to requests for info on available comps. I don't have a host but I do work with one person I met on my first trip (I was referred to her by the MLife desk based on play one evening). She has been helpful and always responds, but the marketing offers are always better than what she can do for me. I get it--I am not all that important to them or to any casino.
The last 4 years we gave been going to AC for free. Each year we have gotten a free non weekend room for 3 nights. So last year we decided to stay at Caesars for 4 nights including a Sunday. I had to use some points to pay for that night but the other 3 were free. My wife did not gamble at all and I earned something like 250 tier points and hit a royal while vulturing. So we got minimal points and we're up for the trip gambling. You know how they punished me this year? They are comping me 4 nights including a saturday night in July in Caesars ocean tower deluxe.
Wtf are they thinking? I am worth almost nothing to them but they keep giving. It's like my account is stuck in the wrong level or something. Owell i will milk it until the cow is dry.
Reminds me of how bad spirit airlines is at doing this
Quote: WizardofnothingReminds me of how bad spirit airlines is at doing this
I've never paid an extra fee for Spirit.
Oh that's clearly a mistake....What's your card number? i'll call up and fix it for you :-)Quote: GWAEDD, I don't think any of us will ever understand d CET. I am the lowest card they have. When they did the race thing I did it both years. Didn't cheat either, I actually went to all the casinos required. I not only went to all but I did the bare min. I think it was 1 point the first year and 25 the second. I mjght be wrong about that. So there my wife and I are with 250k RCs. Ever since then we have been going to AC and vegas using our points and barely gambling. So for the last 5 years my wife and I have a combined 1290 tier credits.

WTF who told you about Siegel slots?( Previously Barcelona) is Darkoz talking again?Quote: RogerKintIt's surprising how easily the CET Vegas properties will give away rooms for such small play. The problem, for me, is a resort fee is levied against low tiers. I just get too many free rooms from other places (Siegel slots, Longhorn) to accept offers with a resort fee attached.

I see the same thing, but I never even played a lot. I have a gold card, and play maybe $1k coin in on machines and a little bit of 3CP every trip. I was able to book multiple nights in ocean view rooms in July/August.
My theory is that other activities now play a more significant role in your comps. Dining, entertainment, nightclubs, etc. We spend way more money on that sort of stuff than gambling. If AC can't differentiate its-self with things other than gambling, why would anyone make the trip from PA/DE/MD?
It also crossed my mind that age has something to do with it. I am in my early/mid 20's, and maybe they are trying to create lifelong customers.

I have no theory. I think they just don't know what to do. I am the 10 years older than you do I don't think age is a factor.

hey now don't mess with my Casino welfare
BS, my play is a Swiss timepiece, it never changes, only my offers have changed.
Just to give you a feel;
Mailers for free play in Jan, Feb, Mar were a number, a consistant number. Let's call it 1K.
Mailers for April were $500.
Mailers for May were $250.
Mailers for June were $50.
Host was no help on any info, maybe he is doing his job perfectly.
I black chip player, numbers above are correct proportionately, but scaled back as conversational post to the Forums. I think maybe they just told me to go eff myself. I think I got the msg.
Any other thoughts from anyone before I just write these guys off?
Diamond Aspiration II last year, though 25 hours of play ( black chip ) in 3 days leaves me a lil short of minimum Diamond this year, so far.
WTF?
If we told you we would have to kill you.Quote: TwoFeathersATLI have been playing at one of Ceasars/Harrah's managed Tribal Native American owned casinos. They have been good to me. Unfortunately I have been better ( bettor ) to them for the last year or so. So you would think that they would continue to roll out the red carpet for me. Nope. I messed something up somewhere or they got confused, they have pretty much decided to 'no mail' me. Pls remember I am not AP, I don't count, my only game is BJ, Black chip average. I reached out to my host and asked why the big change in my mail offers. The answer was, I kid you not,' your offers are based on your current play'.
