according to the report below, the appeal date is 10 Dec. Is there any news? Is it 10 Dec 2015 or 2016?

Yes, that was the scheduled court date. I have not been able to independently confirm that the hearing actually took place.Quote: supergrassbut the court date was 10 Dec 2015?
In the original case, the trial was scheduled for 7 days, it took 4. I was expected to testify for a whole day. I was on the stand for 2 hours. We expected the judge to take up to 2 weeks to hand down a verdict, he did it on site the last day. He clearly had been working on his judgment since at least the previous day, as it was very polished. It felt like it was a done deal.
If the hearing did take place on December 10, the fact that a judgment has not yet been handed down is good news for Phil Ivey's side, I would think.

I hate that he beat them at their game, with their rules, and their dealers... yet they don't want to pay him like a 9 year old that's mad they got schooled.
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

Does their partner, MGM Resorts international, still have his name on the high limit poker room at Aria?

Genting/Resorts World and all its incarnations in the world are a bunch of sneaky strong arming piker punk joints. If they can get away with it they will pull it off and if not they will throw their money and weight around to get it. And if the back door strong arm dealing doesn't work they will piss all over it and ruin it for everyone. Look at what happened to the gambling situation in New York. Plus their presence in Vegas is going to really stink up the place. Hopefully the recent global economic "turmoil" will slow or even put a kibosh on their Vegas plans.
Smart move for Miami to give them the hi hee ho and shoe them away not falling for their bs.

I have no idea. Last time I was there was in 2012 when they backed me off from the bac tables because I was spread betting. LOL. Never been back plus I don't live in the East Coast anymore.

Well, here is a great article about Ms. Sun who was the woman edge sorting with Ivey and an unrelated lawsuit with Foxwoods.

I hate tribal casinos- I had an issue at the Seneca tribe
I asked what house way was in pai gow- they advised me wrong- during the same hand the dealer set his hand wrong - they reset the house hand but told me I could not reset mine as I was not under any requirement to set it the way they told me. I protested and a long pony tail wearing Tribe memebers came down from gaming and within three seconds say sorry out of luck
At the same casino after putting all the hands out- instead of being four cards there were three- the floor said hand stands as it only effected the last four cards and all other players at tables received the full 7 cards - at that point I never walked back in that place

In all fairness, or unfairness, it would have gone down like that at most Vegas casinos too. I think the player should be allowed to know the rules in full of any game offered to the public, but alas, I'm not in charge.

A couple years ago I saw the longhaired guy at Seneca make a decision that really upset the whole table.
The dealer dealt cards to a spot with a lammer in it.Normally most casinos offer the players the option to back out of the hand if they want. In this case the players all had match the dealer bets. The pit boss just burned the cards that were dealt to the lammer spot and all the players lost their match the dealer bets.
The players went nuts dropping F bombs and such.
The commission came and backed up the pitboss.
