I was watching a show about arranged marriages (always on the lookout for potential new clients) and the mother of the groom told the mother of the bride that when she got married, her husband was "already 29" and therefore told him they had to get pregnant right away before "his sperm got old" -- the women had a good laugh about that comment

I wonder what the reaction would have been if the two fathers had been sitting around talking and said "my wife is already 29 and if I don't get her pregnant soon before her eggs get old"

I believe men of virtually any age can impregnate a fertile female whereas the opposite is not true.

Your thoughts?

Full disclosure - this woman, earlier in the episode, stated that men and women are "not equal" and that she doesn't believe women should be "allowed to be President"

Ahhh one of the grooms just asked his new wife if she would freeze some of her eggs so that, if she did not want to be pregnant right away, she would have the ability to do so later -- but, it was not done in a way to denigrate one sex, but to point out a medical reality and aid the wife in not having to rush to a decision and they visit an OBGYN who informs the 34 year old wife that at age 35, the risk for chromosomal abnormalities due to her "older" eggs become much higher

Let me guess you seen the episode where she(the bride to be) tried on 30 dresses in a row at 3 different dress shops?

I've done several prenups and one divorce for an older gent who is fascinated with the notion of courting and sometimes marrying and divorcing young Filipinas.

It's a compulsion: he just can't keep his paws off them, and when he snares one his eyes scan the horizon for a new one.

I believe this is called being a male.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

Some people try to make this a profitable game, it's a path to citizenship for the bride. They pay.

That's medical reality. The older a woman is, the less fertile she is, and the chances are greater of something not being right.

http://www.advancedfertility.com/age.htm

Girls are born with all of the eggs they will ever produce. They seem to have a shelf-life, so to speak.

Men produce new sperm pretty much 24x7, and no matter how old the factory is, the product seems to be just as viable.

Still, I think more than a few women would take offense to an 'old eggs' comment from men.
