Wayne Newton and his business partners who have been involved in law suits against each other for several years, which lead to Mr Newton being forced the 52 acre Las Vegas property in 2013 that he built and lived at for 45 years. Newton moved out Casa de Shenandoah in August 2013 and relocated to a smaller ranch several miles away near Russell Road.

The sunset road property was for sale for last 2 years with no buyers through several big price reductions. At one point, the bank or realtor trying to sell it even changed the name on the property to Sunset Ranch, before it quietly changed back to Casa de Shenandoah, earlier this year. Wayne Newton's jet plane can still be seen just inside the wall.

According to several news articles, Mr. Newton and his business partners have settled their differences and are now leasing the property back, in what is described as a long term lease arrangement that will extend far beyond Mr. Newton's remaining years (hopefully many). They have now moved forward with their intended project (modeled after Graceland), of creating the Wayne Newton Museum at that location, Casa de Shenandoah at Pecos and Sunset Roads.

The museum opened this week, with a visitors center located in a strip shopping center directly across the street from the property and then a guided tour of Casa de Shenandoah. Some tours at a premium price are to even be guided by Wayne Newton himself. Apparently Wayne Newton has an extensive collection of memorabilia, not only relating to his career, but that of other Vegas performers, including Sinatra and the 'rat pack'.

The only thing not made clear in the several articles is if Newton has moved his residence back to the property, which has 8 different residences houses on it, which at one time where occupied by various family members and business associates.

Does Newton even sing in Vegas anymore?
Last I saw he was doing a few Indian casinos
here and there. His voice has been totally
shot for at least 10 years. In 97 when he
did Vegas Vacation, he wasn't sounding
all that good anymore. He's 73, even Frank
sounded like crap at 73.

It used to be the Borscht Circuit, meaning you were so
bad now the only gigs you could get were in the
old Jewish resorts in the Catskills. Indian casinos
are the new Borscht Circuit replacement, where
worn out entertainers go to die. The pic Wayne
has on his site is 25 years old, he looks nothing
like that now. I remember him on the Ed Sullivan
show in the early 60's.

Why would anyone be interested in seeing his former home, which is now a "museum?"

Liberace, I can understand: he had flashy, sequined, unique-to-him things, but Wayne Newton?

There is a jet in the back yard, some pools, tacky furniture, a horse and a monkey: is that crap really unique and worth paying to see?

People are generally stupid and attracted to flashy things so it may not fail, but I suspect it will.

"Danke Schoen?"

Uh, no thanks, Wayne, I'll pass.
"What, me worry?"

Scratch me, I usually have to know more than zero about the subject matter to do an Article, otherwise I'm just regurgitating information.

So, what wasn't clear in the earlier stories, is that Wayne Newton has indeed moved back into the house on the property that was his long time home. That's nice :) That was one of my main interests in the story to begin with. I am not a Wayne Newton fan. I can name two songs, and probably know about a dozen words combined from them. I doubt I will take the tour. If I did it would be more about interest in Las Vegas and memorabilia that Newton has relating to old Las Vegas and other performers of the time, than anything relating to Newton.

But he is a Vegas icon and a big part of the Vegas past that I love, so I am happy that he will get to live out his years on the property that he built and lived at for almost 50 years. :)
