Last week my casino opened Rapid Baccarat.

Its the same deal as the touch game except now the shoe goes into an automatic shuffle machine
I point out this is the rectangular box attached to the side of the table, not the continuous shuffle
machine which has a cylindrical component that sits on the table.

My question is, does anyone have information about the effectiveness of the shuffle in one of these
automatic shuffle machines.

Is the shoe likely to be similar to what it was before it was shuffled. For example a shoe may have
the statistically correct number of 1's and low 2's. Will this characteristic carry through once the
shoe is shuffled.

Hoping someone may know.

I have seen comments for Black Jack players who say the shuffle is weak.

Any help appreciated

Look at the brand and model. If it's an MD2 or MD3 by SHFL, you should be OK. Those are quite common and I haven't heard of any weak shuffles from those yet.

As a point of clarification - the discarded deck gets loaded into the shuffler, and then a shuffled deck is taken out, cut, put in the shoe, burned...?

I play ASMs when I have the opportunity, have been for years and my win rate has never suffered as best I can determine. I've crushed one in particular and am now backed off. That doesn't stop me from showing up from time to time to make a withdrawal. :-) Hands per hour is important to me.

Yes that is exactly correct

The process is identical to a touch game, except that the cut is made by the dealer
and not by a player at the table

The discarded deck is shuffled whilst the second deck is being dealt

In a game like baccarat, where the player can bet on either side, it is never in the house's interest to stack the deck.

I don't have any formal evidence, but I would agree that either an MD2 or MD3 should be adequately random for baccarat.

I would not expect any shuffle weaknesses to be readily exploitable in a game where you don't have the option to draw freely.

Thanks for the reply

Its more that I was wondering how much a shoe would change after being shuffled.

Not so much that the deck would be stacked, more that it may not be adequately shuffled.
