I have no idea if you can cheat at craps while away from the table, but it seemed weird. No I don't slow down the table as I never shoot, I just bet...... Weird?
Why name it back off when the pb clearly Saif it was not and you were not asked to stop.
"I then ask him if this is a back off" That's the worst thing you should've said.Quote: mason2386I then ask him if this is a back off and he states, no.
a bladder problem to me. I'm in my 60's
go about half that often for that many
beers. And I never leave casino chips on the
table, never. Roulette chips, yes. Never
casino chips. He probably asked you
because others were wanting to play
and you were gone half the time.

Ding, ding, ding!
It is my understanding that you cannot give future instructions to dealers. Or if you do, you still need to be there to confirm them.
Your breaks, while having active bets, probably annoyed the floor person. Keep doing it and you might actually get backed off.
so, you make place bets?Quote: mason2386Once point is made, I place my bets and inform the dealer I am going to go use the restroom and to keep my bet on.
what happens to the winning payouts on a place bet? who is there to pick it up off the table?
something does not sound right here
what casino in the US is this at so one can verify your play and ask some questions?

i think notQuote: HornHighYo11And Btw, 12 drinks as fast as they can bring them to you would put you some where among the "intoxicated" patrons, don't you think?
OP also is a smoker in the casino, of exactly what is still an open question
smokers, imo, never get intoxicated when drinking and smoking, especially while playing craps
those are found at the BJ tables

I have been on plenty of tables in Vegas, Biloxi, PA, and NC where people have stepped away from the table with bets still active. In EVERY case, if the bet hits the dealer pays the bet and takes it down. The chips are then set back by the bank with a lammer on them. When the player returns, the chips are pushed to the player. On some occasions where it is obvious two friends are playing together, I have seen them push the chips to the rail, and the friend will pick them up and put them in the rail. I have done this a couple of times myself.
I will say I have never seen someone do this as often as the OP appears to do it. If he had active bets each time, I agree that the crew was probably starting to get annoyed. The OP should consider taking the breaks when he/she has no action on the table.

When I place the bets, I ask for coverage on my chips and the dealer collects my winnings in a stack, with an off chip while I am gone. What casino in the US that does this..... It is in Vegas mid-strip. Why would you want to verify MY play location? I am just trying to learn/figure out the etiquette of craps. I have only been playing at the tables my last three tips this year. I now understand the Wizard's comment as I only learned the "back off" term from reading this forum since I joined this board. Now realize my question to the pit boss was stupid and naive. I am relatively new to the game, 3 trips of play and totaling 10 at the table and attempting to learn how to play by what is the norm. I appreciate all comments and input from the forum and you sally, as I am new to the game and don't want to ruin my opportunity to play at the casino I stay at and don't want to look like an idiot

After 3 or 4 hours of playing slots and receiving drinks while playing the slots, I then head to the craps table. I generally only eat once a day in Vegas around 11:00 am and then start drinking. Irrelevant to my question unless we are doing a crime scene analysis. But yes, I tend to drink a ton while gambling and that lowers my inhibitions while gambling. I win big and lose big depending on the day and the shooters rolls. I am just never the shooter.

I smoke tobacco. Smoking has no effect on the body on the effects of alcohol. If in doubt of that statement, ask a doctor. If true there would be a hell of alot less DUIs.
