I am now impressed. I was wondering today.
1) What school teaches this super great skill?
2) How do you become an AP'er?
3) Is being 86'ed, trespassed, etc., like badges of honor?
4) What do you tell your banker or finance companies you do for a living?
5) Health Insurance, savings plans, what kind of benefits? (I was thinking certainly there must be an AP'er association, no? Something like: AP'ers R US??)
6) What is the proper name for your employment when you do have to put it down on applications or other official paperwork?(Card shark, AP'er, casino hustler, skilled gambler, etc.?)
Just looking for the answers, some of us are very envious and curious.

I have personally known teacher's, Mechanics, Collage professors, Doctors, Lawyers, And even A Judge.
They come from many diffrent backgrounds evrything from MIT to the streets. Mickey Crimm was a Railroad tramp.
There's many different kinds of APs and many different levels.
You have Hustlers that do nothing but Bonus hunt banking slots And UX type machines.
You have Poker players who win millions and ones who make $8 an hr.
You have sports bettors, Blackjack Players who do everything from just counting, to hole carding, shuffle tracking and edge sorting. There are people who do all the above at many different levels. You have guys making $20k a year. Then you got guys like Don Johnson and Phil Ivey who have made many millions.
You have Video poker pros, slot pros. They all range from guys who have made more than a Million dollars to guy's who make $10 an hr.
There's guys who play any advantage they come across everything mentioned above and more than you could imagine. There's so many advantages to be had if you're willing to learn and adapt.
I haven't heard of any legitimate AP schools other than Poker. There may be a few people who have something small going on.
How do you become an AP? People find out about AP in various ways. Some people see something like this forum online. Sometimes a friend or family member shows others. Sometimes people find a book and get intended and find more books. Sometimes you just stumble on to something and realize there's more.
To become an AP you have to decide you want to play with an advantage Learn how and do it everyone learns differently.
Being 86ed isn't fun or a badge of honor, Its very disappointing, people go through great lengths not to be Trespassed. Losing a casino can cost you hundreds of thousands throughout the year's.
People may brag after the fact but It's usually not something they wanted in the first place.
You tell the banker and financial institutions your self employed. If they want information you can supply them with W2G's bank statements and IRS statement.
People file as professional gamblers and self employed. Teams even incorporate. AND YES YOU CAN SAY YOU ARE A PROPROFESSIONAL GAMBLER. They automatically think POKER or card counting and understand its a real thing. They often ask if you're on TV or the WSOP.
There's group heath insurance for self employed.
Benefits are free food, Rooms travel, gifts, limos, Vacations, shopping. The biggest benefit is the cash successful AP have they usually buy everything in Cash when they want it... Cash is king.
AP's are usually their own bosses and can go and come as they please the more work and money they punting the more they get back. However if you want to take 3 months off and you can afford it, You do it.
AP's oftentimes incorporate AP and vacation time while traveling. Go somewhere for a Play play until it ends or you want a break and go do whatever you want. I'm doing that now. Went to play something then decided to Visit my GFs family in upstate NY.
A boy asks his grandpa: "Can I have a drink of your beer?"
Gramps says: "Is your d*&k long enough to touch your a#$%8le?"
The boy thinks, says:"No."
"Then the answer is no."
Later, gramps walks into the kitchen, sees his grandson eating a freshly baked cookie, and asks: "Can I have one?"
The boy asks: "Is your d*&k long enough to touch your a#$%8le?"
Grandpa says: "Yes."
"Then go %&*^ yourself; grandma made these cookies for me."

Your answers obviously are not polite at all. I pay tribute to what I learned here and I get accused of being a troll. come on, seriously????

Friday night fun night.

Thanks Axel and great answer. While the others turn serious questions into jokes and wish upon the troll thing....you are very informative. Maybe my post here was a bit in humor but I deal with serious assholes the majority of the day wishing the things we handle on the highway didn't happen and all they want to do is cut corners, forgo the paperwork and get out of there. I would have my business closed down and lose my investment if I followed what they desired.
In fact just yesterday I had to meet the state regulatory investigator out at the scene of that fatality on the interstate with the tanker and the grey pickup truck. He brings his boss, the office supervisor who wanted to meet me. The guy shakes my hand and says how he has seen my incident reports, final reports, charts, site sketches, pictures, lab reports and disposal documentation and says what a pleasure it is to have a company in the region such as mine. Gives me carte blanche on whatever I need. Made a tough week better.
Well 4am on the way back out to that other tanker job from yesterday. But hey--I posted today so others wont come on and say I got scared, etc. Warning, I wont be on until late tonight. Very late.

Can we zoom in? Is that a bottle of Dom in the guy's pocket?
Two blondes drove all night to get to Disney World. They were almost there when they saw a sign that said "Disney World Left".
They cried and went home.
To become an AP, you decide that you want to play with an edge. In the beginning, I've seen a number of casuals start off by learning a few good plays so they can finance their recreational gambling.
Being 86'd is getting fired. It's not good. There are places that will "discontinue your play" just for you winning, not necessarily for beating the game.
I keep a day job. It's a cover play for the banks, it's a health insurance, it's a mediocre retirement plan, it means I don't have to put down anything strange as my employment.
If you're thinking about pursuing AP, I can tell you that like many other things, the transition from "doing it for fun" to "doing it for profit" makes the activity less enjoyable.
Quote: DieterI'm not aware of a school that teaches the skill. There are a number of weekend courses - boot camps - where experienced card counters will teach you (most of) what they know.

Thank you Dieter and Axel for your excellent answers to a post that, shall we say, may have had dubious motives. Good job, guys.
I realized he was being snarky almost as if those were all the thing's APs could not do or have. However, it's not true, and he may have not actually thought about it. The biggest draw back to AP..... there's no job security. Also, you can run bad and lose, even when you have a significant edge. Depending on what you do, you can go long periods of time without finding something valuable. Once you get used to something and have it all planned out, it can suddenly change.Quote: 1BBThank you Dieter and Axel for your excellent answers to a post that, shall we say, may have had dubious motives. I found a couple of good web sites that report on all truck accidents in real time, especially the fatalities. Accidentdata.com and fastertruck.com both report every semi accident in the country and even some in other countries.
