Greetings!

I officially renounce my status as a fan of the New England Patriots. I don't care if they win this game or not.

I remember first becoming a Pats fan in 1990, when I started watching football. The season was an awful one, one of the worst in NFL history in which the Patriots managed to go a humiliating 1-15.

The first game I fully watched was against the Colts when Steve Grogan, in one of only four starts in his final season, led the Patriots to a win. His line was 16-24 for 187 yards a TD and a Pick. Admittedly, I didn't actually remember anything but the TD and Pick and just looked up the Box from that game.

The most fun I ever had as a Pats fan was enjoying the continued seasons of awfulness that eventually ended when they, led by Drew Bledsoe, made it to the Super Bowl and lost to the Packers and that @$$hole Brett Favre.

Anyway, it's a lot more fun to be elated or neutral rather than neutral or annoyed. I spent many years amused by how awful the Patriots were and them actually starting to win was just a bonus.

Watching the NFL isn't fun anymore because I expect the Patriots to win, so I'm either annoyed or neutral. I won't even be happy if they win this game, just mildly satisfied.

I will now have a new favorite NFL team. I thought about the Panthers, mainly because I really liked Jake DelHomme, but they made the Playoffs this year, o they are probably too good right now, even though they had a losing record.

You know I'm serious about this, because the Pats just scored, so this is a winnable game.

I need a team to be really bad, and for the last few years. I hate the Rams and Raiders, always have, besides, too many people like the Raiders.

Thus, I have come to a decision, I am now a fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Thank you for your kind attention.

Become a Vikings fan like me and you have a team that doesn't win all the time. And most of the time they are really bad.

Why do you have to be a fan of any particular team? I'm not, sure I like some teams slightly better, mainly because they have done well financially for me. I tend to like passing teams best.

Just relax and enjoy the game no matter whose playing. Make whatever you think are good bets or bet for fun.

I tend to dislike people who jump on the the winning team bandwagon, like my GF's family members, all of a sudden they are Patriot fans. I guess without them type of people The NFL wouldn't be so successful.

I don't know why, to be quite honest. The Patriots are the only team for which I've been a, 'Serious,' fan. MLB, you could probably call me a Pirates fan, but I was only a die-hard one for a couple years. With the NHL, I was a huge Flyers fan in the 90's, but got sick of it after all that strike BS. I say I'm a Penguins fan, but that's just because my gf is a rabid Penguins fan, I don't actually care about the NHL at all. I do like our local ECHL team, I follow them, to an extent, but I don't particularly care that much.

I don't like basketball. Aston Villa and Arsenal are my favorite Premier League Football teams, but I don't know why. I don't care much about soccer.

I suppose it's just because football is my favorite sport, and specifically, NFL Football. I consider myself a Rutgers fan for NCAAF, but I picked that pretty much at random.

I don't bet on sports very often, I probably made three or four total bets this year.

I don't bet on sports very often. I can usually watch any game, regardless of who is playing. Other than the Patriots, I cheer hard against the Packers, Rams, Seahawks, Raiders and Steelers and just enjoy watching any other game.

That's very true, I don't like fair weather fans, either. That's why I am switching to the Jags, I hope they lose for five years until I get good and used to pulling for them, and learn about the team and players, and then win a Super Bowl.

I really enjoy NFL but Haven't really kept up over the last 5 years or so. I love Boxing but rarely watch that anymore. I like MMA but haven't really seen much of it. (does anyone here bet that heavy ?)

I haven't ever been a hard core fan of sports. If you couldn't bet on them, I highly doubt I would have ever had a second thought about watching them.

I have a few old Raiders hats, one LA (I rarely wear sports clothing) I'm going to send one to you along with a Party Poker hat.

here in Vegas LA raiders hats used to be worth buying if you found them cheap.

How about them Browns. We have quarterback that can't remember the plays and a wide receiver that gets suspended every year. To top it we even have an owner who had been investigated by the FBI for company fraud. He has not been charged with any crime as of yet, as the wrongdoing was apparently done by underlings without his knowledge.

They'd be an option if I didn't live in the general area. I'd really prefer not to pull for a (somewhat) local team as I am already a fan of the Pirates. Besides, I'd want to start going to games which aren't worth the money.

The Chargers could always use another fan.
Being that San Diego is a huge military town with several installations, and the excellent weather we have that draws people from all over the world, we seem to have many fans that root for several other teams. There's also a ton of fair weather fans here.
It's the same for baseball as well.

The Chargers haven't won a Championship since the AFL and NFL merged, so they've never won a Super Bowl. They've only been once and were thoroughly thrashed by the 49ers. I remember it vividly, as I felt the cold breeze against my scalp from where I shaved Lightning Bolts in my hair, each time there was a breeze.
The Padres have been to the big show twice but never have taken the title.

We need all the fans we can get.

As a side note, I went as Eric Weddle this Halloween. Epic beard and all.

Vikings since 1966 or so. Purple people eaters!

Bad boys through and through, and you can have the double frustration of not just watching them blow getting to the playoffs year after year with childish crap, but also just not watching them at all, since you're in Ohio. They'll never be on. You'll be watching Cinci, Cleveland, Pitt, and probably even Philly before your provider will show you a Vikings game. Unless they play on Monday or Thursday, I never get to see them.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

I dont think your heart will be with any team you have no connection with whatsoever. Maybe those feelings of a true fan can be faked but for how long? If I didn't bleed green & gold I would have to root the home team of any city I'm living in.

The Jets have been reasonably good too recently, and I don't like Geno Smith.

To Mooseton: I'd rather watch a team and not care very much than be either neutral or upset about how the game is going. I was upset the first forty minutes of the Colts game because they weren't winning fast enough for my liking. Maybe when Brady, Belichick, or both, are gone I'll go back to the Pats.

You could always just be a hater like me. My favorite team is whoever is playing against the Cowboys any given week. I've hated them their entire existence.
So when the Super Bowl rolls around and they aren't in it I don't even have to watch if I don't want to. Hell, my wife and I took my best friend, who's here visiting from New Orleans, out for a good steak last night instead of watching the entire game. Got home just in time for the end.
The best way to watch the Super Bowl.
