I'm leaving for Vegas this Sunday for a long, long stay.

you had a hat on. But I got a good impression
of your overall looks, but just a side view of
some of your face.
He sent it to me as a link to where he posts
pics, and when I went back to it a week later

you about it, remember?

For at least the last 3 years, there has been an unofficial WOV craps game at MSS on the Friday before the official meetup on Saturday. Most folks are in town an looking for cheap gaming on a friday night, and MSS is usually good for that. I think we've historically started at 7 or 8 and gone until 10 or 11. Not everyone plays craps the whole time, but we've generally hung around for about that long.

BTW, I hit a $200 royal today, then I went to find some WiFi to pay some bills and check the work email. Later I'm going to check out the SLS.

Congrats on the royal! But, what is this bit about bills and work email? I think that someone has forgotten what vacationing is supposed to be about.

Dang right about that! I just got home from a two-week vacation trip on which I deliberately declined to have internet access or mobile phone service. No sense in letting technology, work, or other folks interfering with my vacation fun.
Of course, a big part of my decision was based on the outrageous pricing of slow internet service on the high seas and such. I figured I could live easily without either the expense or the intrusion.

Well, I was waiting for an email telling me about two reimbursements owed me. I used those to pay some bills. If I don't pay those bills, I'll return to Mex City to be met by a dark house without internet access.
The company does not cover roaming charges abroad. We're told if we want to keep in touch, we need to pay for it ourselves (at $1.25 per minute or per text message, no less). I let the boss know I'd be mostly out of touch. He said "sure."

I'm still stuck on this post, must have went over my head. I cannot attend, at least this time. I also wanted to 'sort-of', accidentally of course, run into Sally. And yes, that's a nice pic. But the real Sally will bring you to your knees, she'll be so far beyond your understanding that you will just bow down (again on your knees). She doesn't have to be as 'cute' as the picture, she doesn't have to be cute at all. She can talks numbers, the world is made of numbers, you are a number, Sally might hold the 'magic' key. Of course she might be really cute outside, we already know she is cute inside. So you hope, or so I hope....2F

Re: Saturday night - this one is easier. Just look for someone you met on Friday and/or look for the Wiz:-)

If you are concerned that you might not be able to find us in the crowd on Friday evening, I suggest that you look at some of the photos I have posted from previous gatherings -- try the search function at the top of this page and try "WoVCon" or "Spring Fling" or "Winter Event" or some such. After briefly studying those photos, you should be able to recognize rdw4potus, Nareed, me, and perhaps others on sight. On Saturday, the Wizard should be there, and his photo has appeared numerous places on this site.
If all else fails, just look for a bunch of nerds that seem to have wandered in from a shooting of Big Bang Theory.

A plan or a plant? When speaking to AP's wishing to remain anonymous, it seems to me it would matter. :)
Everyone agrees on a specific spot to meet and goes from there. When the group includes the Wizard, as this one does, people head for his table (since he's easily recognizable), but it will likely be one of two long, curvy hi-tops at the bar.

I am interested in doing the first one. Tried to get my wife and a few friends to do it 2 months ago. No one was interested. I would be a definite yes.

I suspect that is more than I can handle straight, and I have already confirmed for the 6:00 and 7:00 items. I think I am confused. Triple Seven Pub at MSS at 6pm on the 16th is the official event. When I saw Nareed's post, I assumed she had just written 15 instead of 16. If the Friday night even is also to begin at 6pm at the triple seven, that certainly works.
To the extent that the main event is Saturday, I think that the escape game is also proposed for Saturday. I could do it either day, FWIW.
Whether we meet for dinner at 6pm on Friday or not, I'd imagine we'll be gambling by 7 or shortly thereafter. So, at least we haven't proposed any mutually exclusive ideas.

Ooops! Sounds now as if the confusion is mostly mine. When the Wizard said, "...how about the afternoon before the main event." I read that as equivalent to, "....how about the afternoon of the day before the main event."
Sorry that I raised issues that might have also confused others.
No, rdw, I think that Nareed really meant getting together Friday (in addition to Saturday) at the Brewpub, prior to the day-in-advance craps game that you had suggested was a "tradition". If two meals in two days at the same pub is overdoing it, perhaps we could try the buffet on Friday evening. I just suggest that all who are interested in eating prior to playing just gather at/by 6:00 and we make a final decision then about where to dine.
