Hello All,

First post, and by the way, I don't bet the 4-5 on the hop, just like to say it, and needed a username!

I have been reading the forum here, and absorbing some good tips.

Just had a question for some pro's. I am headed to LV this Friday. Meeting my cousin and his buddies, who are in for the WSOP tourney. I am not a poker guy, so I will be running LV solo looking for the CRAPS EXPERIENCE. It will be the first time I don't have to worry about the wife, or the buddy learning the game, just me, the dice, and my money I am willing to leave. This will be trip #8 to Las Vegas, and wanted to do something differnet than previuos trips. I thought about going to Casino Royal, maybe downtown (just don't know where), or hopefully some place suggested by the forum here. I appreciate the help.

Check out crapless craps at the Stratosphere, only at night. It is different experience. CR is a lot of fun but has become very popular and a little crazy. The drinks do flow though. El Cortez is fun. See everything from high rollers being pampered(food at the tables) to the homeless playing. Then my new favorite Mandalay Bay for the higher end at night. Lots of young women at night dressed to kill. Usually the games stop while they walk past. I will be there next week.

Check out Rapid Craps at Bills. If you missed it, here's a rather lengthy thread about it:
https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling/tables/1100-rapid-craps/

Players throw dice just like in craps, but bets are entered thru a touch screen terminal.

Two results: There aren't any chips on the table to intefere with your throw, and it uses slightly lower betting units. (i.e. you can press the 6/8 in less than $6 units, press 5/9 in less than $5 units, etc).

If you have a car, head out to Joker's Wild on the Boulder strip. They have a 25¢ craps table.

I say you do something fun like walk up to a table, shout out "4-5 on the hop!" and if it hits, then you stay a while. Sure it won't hit very often, but it might be fun walking up and down the strip checking out the craps action until it does hit. And when it does, you look cool for knowing what the next dice roll was going to be.

In all seriousness, since most craps tables have the same 3x 4x 5x odds, drift in an out of various casinos until you find a table that suits you. Each player is different. It might have a couple of beautiful woman playing, or a table full of brides and bridesmaids, or a couple of high rolling gamblers, or whatever. Have fun, and make sure you write a trip report!

Guess this all depends on what kind of bankroll you'll be running around with. I think you definately should go check out downtown, at least for a while. A much different feel and experience than you find on the strip. If you are looking for lower-roller limits you can't beat downtown. Main St Station, Binions, and even El Cortez are worth checking out.

Downtown, Main Street Station offers 20x odds.

Close to Downtown, Startosphere offers 10x odds. I think Sahara advertises 5x odds, whatever that means

Off-strip and not Downtown, the Rampart, which is hard to get to without a car, offers 100x odds, as does Eastside Cannery at Boulder Strip. Also at Boulder, Sam's Town offers 20x odds.

But don't take my word for it. Check the Wizard's craps survey here or at the Wizard of Odds site.

Ha, this happened to me at Venetian last year. I was at a full BJ table (all men) when a "killer" brunette sauntered by. Play at each table down the isle stopped for a moment as she passed; even the dealers paused. You could hear the single word "dayum..." being expressed.

Depending on how long you'll be there on Sunday, you might be able to catch the Lakers/Boston game. There's a chance the Lakers will be down 1-3 by Sunday and I highly doubt they'll go down in 5. It's always fun to root for the Lakers in Vegas, it seems like a big majority of the people in Vegas are for them.
