So Facebook and others are jumping in with both feet into the Virtual Reality realm: see
I wonder how this technology can be most effectively implemented to enhance gambling, both at home and in the casinos?
Perhaps with the correct software and hardware an at home computer user can realistically gamble in a strip casino, see a show, and get laid.

In my opinion, gambling will not sell the system. Pornography will.

That sounds like it could be really upsetting. Imagine being rejected by a virtual lady.

It is predicted in twenty years, computer power will be advanced enough to create a reality so real, we will not be able to know the difference between reality and the simulation.

I tried one of the 3d slots just a couple weeks back. Things become more interesting in gambling as opposed to gimmicky if the thing being done is incorporated into something to do with the actual wagering.
Same thing I see in movies with everything from over large screens, surround sound, 3d and probably eventually virtual. It's much better if the thing used is more than an effect. In the early use of 3d, they just used it to make an object come out of the screen. To no real purpose as far as the story.
Which reminds me --- while I really like the newest TVs, you still get used to great pictures and tend not to notice after awhile. So, you need to bring something to the technology when you use it, if you want to get a big bang out of it.
(IMO) of course.

OTOH, Suggestion for newest thing at the Stratosphere
Occulus Rift helmets. +a real Bungee drop.
So, you can jump into the Grand Canyon, an active volcano, down to the surface of another planet, or the pit of Hell even.
Yeah, you'd probably have to sign a real disclaimer opting out of all liability to the entertainment providers

If we have the technology, can we create a simulated reality when we don't know the purpose of life? Another problem is our memories themselves are terrible. Our memories are like paintings that we keep changing but dont realize we're changing them as the years go by. Our loved ones 99% correct, yet we'll know they're fakes.
Mathematicians and physicists tell us our own reality is a fake, likely a fake within a fake, on and on. As always with more answers, many more questions to infinity. Maybe infinity is a device to protect the creation from unraveling by answering questions that cannot be answered. I know if I am in a dream, the participants will not answer questions that question the reality of the dream, and change the subject. Thinking deep and half asleep.

Honestly I don't think VR will catch on at all, except for really niche applications.
