Dang, with the old plastic change buckets, you could have probably poured 72 oz into it and carried a six pack across the street, not withstanding the grime that accumulated in the bucket.

In a plastic cup?
What is gonna happen to me if "they" catch me? I am entertaining civil disobedience on this one. Can I take this to Supreme Court and would I stand a chance? (serious question!)
Quote: CanyoneroThis makes me so mad. How can "they" even have the power to impose that on people. If I want to carry a Schnitzel and a bottle of my homemade lemonade in my non-stapled NPR tote bag, I am not hurting anyone.

If it's in your tote bag, they have no right to search it, so how would they know it's in there?
"Sir, may I take a look inside your bag?"
"No"
Quote: BozThere goes buying 22oz bottles of Stone Arrogant Bastard at Flamingo and walking around with them drinking myself silly. What's next, no open cans on Fremont? Nevermind.

That's what I was thinking. I don't think I have ever taken glass bottles outside of casino property even when Vegas looked the other way. I usually just slammed it instead. And Arrogant Bastard sounds good...haven't had that in awhile.
Quote: LVSun"The Clark County Commission voted today to ban glass bottles on the Las Vegas Strip to prevent them from being used as weapons and to cut down on litter."
What about WEAPONS being used as weapons??? Those are cool, right? So the bottles should be cool, they seem less lethal to me... In fact let my claim SECOND AMENDMENT on this on. If Clark Fuckin County tells my that my lemonade is, in fact, an arm, well, then my RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED!!! The amendment says nothing about no staples! Before I can get the staples open, my family might get killed by Budweiser bottle wielding thugs! The only way to stop a bad guy with a bottle is a good guy with a FREE HEINEKEN!

No stop and frisk in Vegas? That is good to know! But then the paper bag - no staples, no receipt - should be fine as well?
If you're in a bar with a drink in a glass or bottle and want to take it outside just ask the bartender for a go-cup.
Quote: 1arrowheaddrHolding two or three bottles of beer is much more convenient than plastic cups.
Big plastic cup

Clearly you don't live here because Vegas cops are just looking for an excuse to shoot you. That might just be enough to trigger it.
Quote: 1arrowheaddrIs it legal to dump three beers into one cup? Or is it just frowned upon?
Beer aggregation; that'll be a $50 fine.
You see drunken frat-types walking around with those large over-sized novelty cups full of some frozen beverage all the time. Beer will fit in those just as well.
Although, I'd have to recommend one of those helmets that holds one beer can on each side and some straws. I'd like to see them back you off from blackjack while you're wearing one of those!
I'm not sure, but I think most blackjack tables are indoors.Quote: AxiomOfChoiceAlthough, I'd have to recommend one of those helmets that holds one beer can on each side and some straws. I'd like to see them back you off from blackjack while you're wearing one of those!

Yeah but why would you take it off when you come inside?
Quote: 1BBI remember many years ago when New Orleans banned glass in the streets. People adapted and everyone was better off. Before the ban workers used snow shovels to clear paths through all the broken glass and to pick it up.
I don't ever recall shovels full of broken glass on the Strip or Downtown...
typical.
The next season of "Vegas Strip" is going to be so boring watching people get busted for bottles.
