Hello,

this is not - by any chance - a complaint or a disregard to the proven mathematical chances. I 'm only asking, because I seem to be beyond "unlucky" to the point that makes me think that I 'm probably missing something out. I 've only just recently started to read about blackjack and try to improve my chances as much as I can. As you probably realised, I 'm only following the basic strategy so far.

What I 'd like to ask, is about standing on a hard 13, 14 on a dealers' 2 or 3 upcard. I must have played around 500 hands (approximately, but definitely around there) of this particular situation, I standed all 500's of them and I won 2, or maybe 3?

Am I getting something wrong here? I' m not saying that I' m considering the situation to be a good one, but it still seems like a very bad outcome to a newbie like me + if I indeed have realised what I should have done, what are the chances of me being just that unlucky ? This happens while I play "Blackjack game and trainer" that the wizzardsofodds.com have.

By the way, it is excellent and really helpful, especially for people like me, so thanks a lot for having it on your site

That can't be right. Is this a real blackjack game with real cards?

I would suggest that if you've played 500 hands in this situation you've won a lot more than 2 or 3. It just seems like you lose a lot. Because you do. You will lose more of these than you win. But there is no way you've only won 2 or 3. See also confirmation bias.

So far, I 've only won at the casinos although I 've never played too many hours on the same table because when I reached 350euros for example, I was instantly leaving (was joining with 35e, 50 or maybe 75e depending on the blinds)

This hasn't happened in real casinos - I 'm not even sure about the times the hand occured. My question was due to "Blackjack game and trainer"

-> "This happens while I play "Blackjack game and trainer" that the wizzardsofodds.com have.

Please describe the test conditions.

Number of decks & shuffling method is a start, number of other spots in play might be helpful (but not as much), was it a cash game, at-home practice, or computer simulation, how did you record the results...

You mentioned the Wizard of Odds blackjack game / trainer; that one shuffles every hand. That shouldn't effect the results (much), but if you're looking for something that lets you go a few rounds between shuffles, maybe try Blackjack Verite.

Losing is part of the game.
May the cards fall in your favor.
