First post... an avid reader of the craps forum these last months and much appreciative of all I've learned.

I was alone - all other consoles were empty: these are just preliminary observations after a few minutes of $1 rolls on pass/don't with $1 odds (broke even with my "$5 dollar buy-in"):

- the timed countdown till the dice can be "thrown" is annoying when throwing solo (something like 25+seconds; probably ok when all the consoles are occupied... certainly faster than waiting for all those center field bets to be reconciled at a crowded table, like at the 1/2 table @ a local casino earlier this eve);

- there's a computerized high-pitched, loud voice constantly intoning something like, "You are the shooter... please place your bets"... "are you ready... just press the button";

- unlike the picture above, the dice are about one foot in diameter with rounded(???!!!) corners and look like large foam, children's toys;

- minimum bet at this casino on either of the lines was only $1;

- you can bounce the dice higher than a tall stickman's head in that enclosed cylinder so there's no opportunity to request, "Same dice.";

- I kept waiting for someone saying, "May the force be with you", or to have an E.T. look-a-like come 'round the corner asking, "Drinks... drinks?".

Whatever... I hope you all have an opportunity to, at the very least, witness let alone play on this machine: for seasoned/table players (are there any other?), it will be a hoot.

Regards and GOOD LUCK,

the next time Dame Fortune toys with your heart, your soul and your wallet, raise your glass and praise her thus: “Thanks for nothing, you cold-hearted, evil, damnable, nefarious, low-life, malicious monster from Hell!”   She is, after all, stone deaf. ... Arnold Snyder

There was a TV show in the 60s with a spaceship that the OP thinks looks like that machine.

Frankly, I don't see the resemblance at all...

My mistake, DJTeddyBear: you're correct. Maybe I had too many wins some months ago (laying the 4 for $1) but my memories were something akin to the following :)
