Casino has free limo service for higher tier cards but I've never taken them up on the offer.
I like the convenience of leaving when I want instead of the appointed time.
I goto the casino twice a week and am racking up quite a few miles on my car. (12k/yr miles just for the casino!)
How much would you tip for a free hr long limo ride?
I personally think $20 each would be ok but probably cheap. I would try to find out if the driver gets a decent hourly as well. If he is only on tips then $20 for over 2 hours of driving would suck.
Quote: GWAEYou are spending approx $30 each way right now on your car which includes gas and normal wear and tear. If there are tolls that would be extra.

no tolls.
using IRS $0.56/mile for gas/wear+tear?
I'm assuming it's going to be a different driver on my way back.
I play poker and am usually at the casino for 6hrs+
Is working for tips even legal for a driver?
so $10 for each driver?

yes .50ish a mile. If you just use the current expense of gas then you are looking at about $10 each way.
I was saying $20 each way but that is just me. A lot of people on here and in general would be happy to not tip at all.
I have no idea if driving for tips is legal. If he is making a decent pay check and tips are just extra then I would tip less. This is something that I would try to figure out.
Quote: Neutrino$0. Tipping a casino worker is ridiculous. The casino is making money off me, they are not offering me a "service" for entertainment.
I respect your opinion. On the other hand, if he is going to use this service multiple times a week and not tip then I can see it not working out to well. I could see the limo not being available for him, or being late, or other issues. Just my opinion.

If you don't like the tipping rules, don't take it out on the employees. Take it out on the house.
That said, with regard to the original question, ask yourself this - what would you tip if you were paying for an equivalent limo ride? I would tip based on that.
