Wong, Gong, and High-9

1. If you have both high-2 and low-2, play the best high hand.
2. Play the best low hand if it is worth 6 or 7 points and the tiles include a low-2 and/or high-8.
3. Play Wong or Gong instead of High Nine if the fourth tile is a 4 or 5.
4. Play High Nine, Gong, or Wong, in that order of preference.

I am just learning to play and decided to try to learn the JB Simple strategy from wizardofodds.com when I head to Vegas next month.

My question regarding this particular part of the strategy involves line #2. When it states the tiles include a low 2 and/or a high 8, I interpreted that to mean that those tiles were either in the high or low hand. Should it mean just in the low hand? I wasn't clear on that and was hoping someone could help with that.

It means if any of the four tiles is a low 2, or any of the four tiles is a high 8, or if two of the four tiles are a low 2 and high 8.

Some examples that come to mind are:

2, H8, L8, 4 - play 6/6
2, H8, L8, 5 - play 6/7
2, H8, 9, 4 - play 6/7
L2, 4, 7, 10 - play 6/7
2, H8, L8, 6/Gee - play 6/8
L2, 4, 8, 10 and H2, 4, H8, 10 - play 6/8
L2, 8, 4, 11 and H2, H8, 4, 11 - play 6/9 (an exception here is with L2, L8, H4, 11 you should play 5/Gong)
2, H8, 9, 5 - play 7/7
L2, 7, 5, 10 - play 7/7
L2, 8, 5, 11 and H2, H8, 5, 11 - play 7/9

(H2=Teen; L2=Day; 2=Teen or Day)
