The only caveat is your IP address must be in NJ when you make the bet.
NJ also has licensed other gaming companies for online poker and online table/slots, I think all of them Las-Vegas-based.
If you are talking about sports betting, I do not think there is any licensed way in the USA to make sports bets from a distance. Maybe you could use a runner if you can afford to hire one.
Quote: sodawaterYou can gamble online in NJ with the casinos that are in business here. That means from a device like a computer, tablet, smartphone, or television. You have to deposit with the casino first, and then you can play their games online. Then you can pick up your winnings at the cage next time you're there.
You do not have to deposit any money to gamble online in NJ. Many sites are offering free money just for signing up. You can play with that money.
I have won money playing VP and poker.
I play on a site that has free poker tournaments. I have won money playing these tournaments. I have transferred this money into my banking account.
I think you have to make the bet from nevada as well..i am not usre if the phone app can track where you are.
I have a home in reno area but live in Ca, and dont qualify for this. I might be able to get my app on the home computer, but I really need it for when I am out of state.

It would be very easy for you to set up a computer at your home in Reno that you could connect to remotely, and make the bets that way. Just run some sort of remote desktop application and as far as anyone else is concerned, you are using the remote computer, not your local one. Since you are not using a VPN that's available to the public, the casino's chances of figuring out that you are doing this are pretty much nil.
Having said that, it might be a felony to do this, so I don't know if you think it's worth the risk or not.
Yes.Quote: ahiromuHave they taken any counter measures against people who will just use a VPN in NJ?
In fact, depending on the software, you can't gamble even if those remote access programs aren't running. Just having it on the computer causes the casino software to deny access.

That is a sad attempt at security. There are easy ways around that.
Still, it is probably enough to foil most people, and, more importantly, enough for the casinos to claim that "they tried" if it ever comes to that in court.

I agree, however, I think something like that would stop a handful of people from doing it. They would never be able to shut it down entirely, so they'll perform their due diligence and stop there.
