Welcome. I don't think it is "weird" but you do not see it a lot. I chalk this up to the fact that women don't do most things solo nearly as much as men do. Years back when I joined a singles group in Albany they said women are far more likely to come with at least one girlfriend while men always came alone. Same deal anytime I take a continuing ed class, the women come with someone, the men never do.
Don't feel bad for being independent! Men will think it is fine, women maybe or maybe not.
Hi. For whatever reason(s), there is often a desire for a woman to have an experienced female along. I recall one young woman who went into a bar for her first time, she happened to be rich enough to buy the whole bar thousands of times over, but she still wanted someone with her for some sort of "comfort". For some reason there are often women who are perfectly happy to experience adventures on a more solitary basis. I hate to say on a gambling site that "statistics" does not matter, but in a certain sense It does not matter. Wherever you happen to fall on the curve and for whatever reason you happen to fall on the curve... thats it. guys do try talk to me, they even come play at table where i am playing etc... but i don't really notice anything else except the cards being dealt in front of me! i wish i was good at Math bleh i never liked Math! anyways and i know this doesn't belong in this section but a quick story: ok so last time i went to casino (in Cali), i bet the minimum ($5) on my reg bj hand and i bet like $10-15 on the pair bet (i know u guys say it is sucker bet!) and i thought that way too until recently... true, it sometimes or most often is a sucker bet BUTT, i have gotten very lucky and won a nice sum of $ betting on that pair bet! i wasn't winning much on reg bj hand, but i got pairs maybe like 7-8 times!! the guys at my table were saying dam why can't i get pairs and they betted on their pair bets but didn't get pairs..my last hand i bet $25 on my pair bet and stood up ready to leave, and i got a perfect suited pair! which pays out 25/1 so i won $625!!! kyahhhhhhhhh (i started w/ $120)~~~ happy new YeaR boysss

You are under obligation to: Enjoy and chat about gambling, playing, and gaming.
You are not under any obligation to:
1. Play any specific games; BJ is fine, but I say learn and try poker games and dice also.
2. To count cards or to not AP. Some will recommend it, and a few (including myself) will advise against going against what the casinos expect of you, when you are on their property. There are pluses and minuses and many points of view here, and EVERYONE swears their POV is right on. Like Fox news, we talk, you decide.
3. No requirement to Gamble a certain minimum amount or bet size for any "street cred" here. You say you're into it, great. This is a gamblers' forum, and we take you on your good faith.
4. Try prop bets from time to time.
5. Playing alone is okay. You are your own best company. I hate playing with someone else, and one gets ruined while the other is still in action.
Having "friends" around to distract you making bets, make you lose track of your bets, break your concentration, make you stay longer than you want, or make you leave sooner than you want are not what you need.
I give that same advice to men and women
there is no double standard.
If an establishment is unsafe for a single lady to go to, then I would contend I wouldnt want my wife and a firend to be there as well. The extra female doesnt scare off low lifes and criminals

Alcohol is a depresant. I would never reccomend its ok for anyone to take 2 drinks and then drive...nor would I reccommend that its ok for someone to drink 2 drinks while gambling

Alcohol depresses your decision making ability,your ability to critically think, and loosens discipline among other things...so the mindset of the casino is....let the drinks flow
If the casino could require that everyone that gambles has at least 2 alcoholic drinks...they would be very happy.
And thats the other thing about gambling with friends...you tend to be guilted into drinking with them socially, even if it helps you lose money on the day.

Counting is a lot easier then you might think. Perfecting it, is the hard part. You don't have to prefect it to lean the odds in your favor. I suggest you try something like KO blackjack, its simple. If you like to play, why not gain an easy advantage? You will probably get less heat from casinos being a girl. I recused myself at first as the only woman currently doing a lot of posting on here (not disregarding Mustang Sally or HB, and there are a couple of other ladies from time to time), but I got a very false vibe off the whole thing from the start. I'm guessing a 16 yo boy goofing or a 20 yo working girl.
