I bet on Auburn to win the BCS Championship last February and accidentally washed the ticket. How do I communicate with the Casino (Stratosphere) Sportsbook to put a lock on this ticket. I live in Idaho and anytime I call the casino they say they cant speak with me on the phone because it is against Gaming rules. I have the terminal number, date, and time that the bet was placed. Any insight on how to proceed with this would be great. Thanks Guys.

Hope Youre not SOL. Obviously don't share the pertinent info with strangers and hope the bet doesn't go your way so getting paid with a piece of blank paper would be moot. Maybe it can be x-rayed.

If you have all that information, they will pay you, I have completely lost tickets in the past, they do have an accounting system for each bet, this sort of thing has happened to me many times. However I live in Vegas and would walk in and talk to the manager. Once time, I had to wait for 90 days after the bet won.
I know for undamaged sports tickets, People can send in sports tickets and they will send you a check. I have received many checks from different sports books.
I would simply send in the damaged sports ticket, along with a note explaining the situation and what ever information you know about the ticket.( self addressed return stamped envelope)
If the ticket is large enough, you may want to send it to someone you trust and have them go into the sports book.

if the ticket is for any significant value, you might want to go to vegas before the game, get a replacement ticket issued, and then hedge by betting FSU. I am sure you got a great enough price on auburn that you could lock in a very big profit.

I've lost a ticket at Planet Hollywood during march madness 2 years ago. Luckily I was able to tell them the terminal # and time, and bet amount and there was no problem. They didn't reissue me a new ticket though. They gave me the ticket # and I had to call back 6-8 weeks later to claim it. I'm not sure why waiting that long was necessary but it happened. Maybe axel could explain the 8 weeks / 90 days we waited.

It's probably to make sure nobody turns in the actual ticket.
Suppose you were standing in line behind somebody and heard the bet being made, then went back later and claimed you lost "your" ticket.

A bit off topic but.....
Its common to see people post pictures of their pending sports tickets online. This is a very bad idea. I've heard stories where people would record the necessary info from the picture and report the ticket lost/stolen.
