At the rate he posts, he might make 10K
by this time in Jan. I know a good prop
bet. The Wiz can't reach 10K in 30min
of posting. That's to make an orig post in
a different thread, on topic, at least 7 words
long, till he reaches 10K. When he gets to
9900, 30 min to do 100 posts, 1 every 18
seconds. Can't do it, no way.

You would have to specify that none of the posts can be pre-prepared with just a matter of clicking, "Post." Without that specification, I could probably make 100 posts in five minutes provided my computer didn't screw up.

In order:

Miplet,

You can do better than that, you'll probably respond to this post. I could just keep you talking and have you at 1,000 by the end of the night. I'm kidding, of course. I believe you are had a great week in the Picks game this week, put yourself right back in the hunt if I am not mistaken. I don't believe anyone ahead of you had a winning record, but there may have been one .500.

EvenBob,

It may defeat the spirit of the bet, and it may not. You must admit, when I explained exactly how to do it and you persisted in denying that it could be done, I'd probably not be breaking the spirit of the bet at that point. Besides, there's a difference between cheating and finding a creative way of accomplishing a specific goal, and I think that would be an excellent example of something that is right on that line.

Sodawater,

Oxford likes it, though it usually pertains to food.

http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/us/definition/english/pre-prepare

"•prepare or produce (something, especially food) in advance:a takeaway or pre-prepared meal"

So, you pre-prepare the posts, and when your pre-prepared posts are all done you are prepared to post them.

I see that the definition they give is "prepare in advance" -- that phrase is, itself, redundant, as it is impossible to prepare something not in advance.

I respectfully disagree with your assertion in cases in which there are multiple levels of preparation.

An example of this would be baking. Let's say you want to make a cake, now to prepare a cake, you prepare batter and you prepare the pan, and then you pour the batter into the pan and put it into a pre-heated oven.

Imagine that someone has a tight schedule on a specific day, such that they want to make a cake, but they can't do it all in one go. This individual might prepare the batter and then refrigerate it, come back later and then prepare the pan and oven and make the cake.

You've prepared the batter at that point, but you have not prepared the cake. However, the batter is a necessary element of making the cake, so you have pre-prepared the cake. Pre-preparing is simply preparing to be prepared.

I should start pre-preparing my 1000th post. My first post was about slots. I think I'll make my 1000th about bingo.
I'm about half way done with my WOV NFL pick script. Maybe it will be done by week 17. Right now it just gets the current lines. Still needs to get the lines that you post and compare the two.

But they don't. They "reduce". They "cut back".

Same with a group. A clique doesn't pare from a group, they "split off".

Even the kitchen isn't totally safe. No one pares a potato or a carrot, they "peel" it.

Ha!

I agree with your first two examples, but for the third, I should point out that the proper tool for that is a, "Paring Knife." Also, it doesn't always refer to peeling. For example, when you cut the ends off of a radish, that's always paring.

Paring knives are expensive, though, you can get the same knife for a lot less if the tag doesn't say, "Paring," in front of it.

How appropriate for 10,000 post, Dog sh*t. lol

Or how about this, a video of the wizard at home in action. A video of the Wizard walking in the door with his dog , going over to his computer, contemplating what he will post, then typing out his 9999 post. Uploading the video to youtube and posting the video as post number 10000.
Its just a forum. Nothing here to get obsessed about.
