My nephew moved from a big city in Washington when he was 13 to North Dakota now he dose the same exact thing, he is 22 and makes 130k a year. One problem, ND kids have nothing to do, but drink like fish and get into a lot of trouble Him or his friends are always in jail for something dumb. I think he has totaled 4 cars already. They came to Vegas last NYE to party I kept up, but wished I didn't. They dropped 15k each in 3 days only 25% was from gambling.

Gambler (I prefer the title 'Gambler' instead of the common title 'Advantage Player')

Investor. Stock market, and other.

I remember when It was professional gambler. If you seen a smart player in the casino who you didn't know, we would just call him a PRO. If they played only match plays or bonus games, you would refer to them as hustler's. Casinos called professional VP or slot players: team players, whether you were alone or not. Team Player was a Bad word.

I wonder who coined the term Advantage player. I guess Advantage player was used mainly for people who had both a different profession, but also took advantage of +EV situations.

I used the professional gambler button, but I too don't like that description and would never describe myself that way. I don't like advantage player all that much either. Sometimes, when I am trying to be funny, I say "short-term invester", as in real short term, about as long as it takes to play the next hand. Lol

A couple years ago, went I went back to Florida, for my 10 year high school reunion, I had several such vague descriptions that I was using all designed to avoid any longer explanation. But by the time I got there, everyone seemed to already know a lot about me, too much about me and I spent half the night answering questions, feeling like I was on trial. The power of Facebook. I no longer participate on Facebook. Lol
