Thank you so much, Babs.

For years Rob Singer has been calling me a sick, pathetic, degenerate, losing gambler....and an internet con man who lies to everyone about beating the gambling game. I'm a dinosaur in so many ways. I avoid hi-tech gadgetry because I don't want to go through the learning curve. For years I carried a simple cheap cell phone. But I recently received an Android as a gift. I have to tell you it is a kick in the pants. And I can now take pictures of my plays. I hope Rob Singer is lurking this site.

Every once in a while I get lucky. I'm not talking about in gambling. I'm talking about stumbling upon a big fat advantage. Chambers of Gold is a classic progressive/banking game. You have to bet two quarters to qualify for the meter. In the top picture you can see the progressive meter is at $411. The meter runs at 4%. To the right of the progressive meter you will see five icons. Four of the icons are blank. One of them is filled in. On the bottom right you can see the payscale and the icon next to the 7/10 pay. When you make a 7/10 that icon will move up and fill in one of the blank icons. Then another icon will pop up next to the 7/10 on the payscale. When you fill all five icons you are awarded the regular pay for the 7/10, $24.50, plus the money in the meter. The meter is supposed to reset at $100. However, on this machine the meter was resetting at $400. Lucky me!!!!

In the top picture you can also see the seven pyramids. These are machine picks. When you hit a pay and at least four of the seven pyramids are hit you enter a bonus round. There are twenty tiles. You get to pick tiles until one says "End of Bonus Round." You are awarded multiples of your bet. The bonus round has a value of 13.2 bets and the frequency to get in the bonus round is 127.

Here's the math:

HIT..................FREQ................PAY.....................PAYBACK PERCENTAGE

4.......................6.79.................2.................................29.4638%
5......................19.44................4.................................20.5711%
6......................87.11................9.................................10.3315%
7.....................620.68..............49....................................7.8946%
8...................7384.47.............405...................................5.4845%

Total..........73.7455%

Bonus Round.....127.00.............13.2.................................10.3937%
Reset Money...3103.40............800...................................25.7782%
Meter Speed....................................................................4.0000%

Total 40.1917%

The meter reset of $400 is 800 bets. The frequency for the 7/10 is 620.68 so the frequency for hitting five 7/10's is 3103.4.

73.7455 plus 40.1917% shows a payback percentage of 113.9372%. The game plays @1500 games per hour. It's a little over a $100 an hour play on a $750 per hour wager.

I WAASSSSS making some decent money on the play. I torched it so bad I'm sure the slot techs broke the speed limit driving from Butte to Deer Lodge to fix it.

You'll notice I didn't put the 9/10 or 10/10 on the payscale. I genrally don't figure long shots into a play. They represent less than .5% in payback.

So is this game so unpopular that it just sat there until you found it? From what I am reading, looks like anyone could have played the game at ~113%. If you didn't torch it, how long do you think it would have lasted? Roughly how far did you have to travel to play the game?

And I hear you on the Android. Now that I have one, I feel dumb not having one a lot sooner.

The game is very unpopular these days. It's been around for about 6 years. It's not just a ten spot progressive. It's also a 9,8,7,6, and 5 spot progressive.

The 9-spot meter starts at $50, runs at 4%, and it takes five 7/9's to get the meter.
The 8-spot meter starts at $100, runs at 2%, and it takes five 6/8's to get the meter.
The 7-spot meter starts at $100, runs 4%, and it takes five 6/7's to get the meter.
The 6-spot meter starts at $100, runs at 4%, and it takes five 5/6's to get the meter.
The 5-spot meter starts at $100, runs at 4%, and it takes five 5/5's to get the meter.

I wonged the game heavily when it first came out. It had first position on the game selection screen, with a tab that said "NEW GAME!!!" The ploppies flocked to the game. People popped two, three, four icons in then walked off. Short coiners ran the meters up while not qualifying for anything. I would come in behind and complete the play to get the meter. I made a killing the first three months the game was out. Then the action started tapering off. Six years later the action has tapered off to the point where I only had three advantage plays on the game in 2013, until I found the out of whack meter.

I use the local hotels in whatever town I have a play in.

My favorite game is any game I can beat. I'll flip coins with you if you will lay me 11 to 10. LOL! I'm an overall machine pro. Video poker, video keno, video blackjack, video line games, advantage slots.

P.S. I never play without an edge.

The last time I was in Deer Lodge, about six months ago, the play wasn't there. I have no idea how long it sat there before I found it.

So would that mean all Chambers of Gold Keno machines should at least be given a courtesy check when walking past them?
If it had happened on this one it could be a glitch on the programs of all of them?

Seems like next time I walk past one, I may have to take a second look :)

Yeah absolutely as a player. My posts on here is solely from a playing/gambling perspective unless I'm directly asked a question about my job or my thoughts on a casino related matter.

Hope that clears it up

The Spielo machines known as "Power Station Five's" have a history of their progressive meters glitching. What you don't know when you find a meter that is much higher than it should be is where the meter is going to reset when you snap it off. Sometimes they reset where they are supposed to. And other times they reset much higher than they are supposed to, in which case you may have a straight through play. I never pass a Power Station Five without checking it.
