Yeah, they started doing the promos for this last week; I'm looking forward to it, but it's all about the script on these things. Of course, 6 or so Oscars among the 4 of them can't hurt the chances...

I'm not old enough to see this movie. It's obviously aimed at an older demographic who's trying to recapture their youth. Most movies seem aimed at kids, or parents with kids, but this is definitely aimed at old folks. Not for me even though I love the actors.

We already had a thread about this. I quoted a review that
said if you like men in their 70's acting like men in their 60's
this is your kind of movie. The youngest star is 67 I think,
the oldest 76. How exciting can it be? One of them takes
a Viagara and almost scores? And they discuss it for 20min?

I'm sure there's a reality TV series in there somewhere. It'd be a cross between Vegas Strip, Impractical Jokers, and Man vs. Food. You could probably get Spike TV to sign a full season on that description alone.

A lot of bitching and griping, drinking too much and
and never getting laid. Who needs to see that. But that
decribes Ace in AC, what am I thinking..

I think Vegas may be looking at aging gamblers and that is why so many casinos are going to be party places for the younger set.

A group of gamblers who keep each other either single or with bimbos whose hooks don't get in too deep wouldn't be a bad idea for many men.

I was.

Wasn't so much speaking of how it is now as much as needing a break from the insanity of my youth.

I'm glad it's not that way so much now personally.

The big head taking orders from the little one cost me several fortunes in my life. It was all kinds of crazy behavior and if I had the chance to do it over, I would.

Now that I've matured I actually prefer making love to just raw sex, but yeah to each their own.

Go for it Buzzard, but remember you shouldn't take nitro with Viagra.

LOL! I can relate to that! I went to see Last Vegas yesterday. I enjoyed the movie. Four old geezers visiting modern Las Vegas. It was some pretty funny stuff. I also like the storyline behind the 58 year friendship of the Flatbush Four. I could really relate to those guys. But then....I went to the 4:30 matinee....and paid the senior rate.

I enjoyed the movie.

My son and I saw this movie on Saturday, and we both enjoyed it as well. Not as funny as The Hangover, but still very entertaining.

The Hangover is one of those movies (along with Vegas Vacation) that I just can't help watching when it comes on TV, even though I own the DVD's and have seen both movies countless times.

I was scrolling through the guide this past Sunday night around 7pm, and The Hangover had just started on TBS. No surprise, I watched it again.

Not sure if Last Vegas will ultimately make it into that category for me, but it was still a great movie.

Was reading reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, and they characterized this movie as "The Hangover: Part 43" or "The Hangover: AARP Strikes Back" lol.

I'm going to try to convince my girlfriend to go see it - we have 2 discount Costco movie tickets we haven't used in quite a while. While I am not in the target demographic (not yet 30), I'm old at heart. I think I'll enjoy it.

I enjoyed the movie! It was amusing and had a fairly original storyline. I wish there had been more gambling in the story, but hell, it's "New" Vegas. All about nightclubs and partying these days anyway...

Anyway I wouldn't need to see it again, but an enjoyable watch.

On the subject of comps, this movie was wildly inaccurate, as one might expect. I'm going to relate part of the plot here, but I'll put it in spoiler tags in case anyone else wants to see the movie. It doesn't give away the ending or anything, but does ruin one amusing scene in the movie.

In the movie, Morgan Freeman's character cashes out half of his pension fund and brings $15,000 (in fat stacks of bennys, lol) to a blackjack table at the Aria. They cut away to a different scene, and then come back and imply that he's lost almost everything (showing a dramatic hand where he busts a 16 against a 10 and loses $9K), but when the dealer counts out his chip stack, he's actually won a shit ton and has $117,000! Now this is unlikely, but not impossible. I'm sure many people on this board have brought $150 to a BJ table and left with $1170 after a crazy run of good luck.

Anyway, from this point on, the casino rolls out the red carpet, obviously wanting to get the money back. They have a giant suite and a personal host who attends to their every whim for the duration of the movie.

Clearly this isn't realistic, unless possibly he continued to gamble at those stakes. So my question is:
A) Would a high-class casino like the Aria extend even a fraction of those kind of luxuries after a huge win, just to entice you to keep gambling? I'm thinking they might give you a room after witnessing that kind of action for one session, but not much else unless you show them more.
B) How much would you have to gamble to get your own personal host for an entire weekend, who literally had no job except following you around, in addition to the penthouse suite, etc.

add Casino to that list for me. A few weeks back it was around midnight and I was laying in bed and happened to see it on tv. Luckily it was an hour in already which meant I only had to stay up until 2.
