I KNEW I liked you.
"Without dancing, I didn't think we had enough in common to make it as a couple."
Seems to me Dancer does not know the definition of the word " discretion " !
Quote: strictlyAPguy is a total piece of work , seems like a total tool, he brags about everything then leaves his wife because she cant handle the smoke - you make money build a downstars shower and take a shower before you come upstairs- but to leave your wife, just goes to show what a piece of work this bob dancer guy is.
If you read more about it, she said even after showering she could smell the smoke, and found it revolting. I don't defend his actions, but there's a little more to the story than that.

I agree, its not our business. Enough with the divorce
already..
Quote: strictlyAPdude is a tool not much else to it, he took money out of mine and a lot of others players pocket so he can profit
His profit wasn't all that great neither. I feel he's totally screwing himself in the future.

If you still have the hate mails you can get the IP to find out where it was sent from. If you use yahoo it's really easy. Open an email and click the actions button up top. A menu will drop and click "view full header" scroll through until you find the originating IP address and then run it through an IP search. If it came from a business or casino, you got a huge complaint against the business or casino. If it's a home PC, well, then you got nothing. Just letting you know...
Thanks, wroberson. I'll check that out. The last I heard he was in Gardnerville, Nevada.
Is Shirley still playing VP?, heck, she was the one that won the 400k, not Bob, and there is a reason he needs the extra cash from seminars, he makes very little these days grinding away at the South Point and Palms playing video poker, and is not allowed to play at many other locations, these days the guy will sell his soul for $199 if given the opportunity.
Imagine being in a casino hours on end for years and years and profiting next to nothing on other very good casino overlays such as blackjack and sports wagering, it is really an incredible display of ignorance.
Like what, how dose anything he dose help players? This is the problem I seem to be having with all this. I hear this type of stuff all the time "He helps the players, he's for the players". Some People looked up to him because they thought he was fighting for us players, so people recommended his books and software, T-shirts or whatever he sells to support him, all With the Idea that following his advice and buying his stuff you to could be a million dollar VP player. If he is calling casino executives and telling them they should avoid running promotions or having too good of games that are advantageous to players how can that be helping anyone but him?Quote: 1arrowheaddr. As information becomes widespread and accepted its value decreases. For example, teams using "moneyball" tactics in the late 1990's/early 2000's were able to exploit baseball market inefficiencies that largely undervalued on base percentage. Today nearly all teams believe in the importance of on base percentage thus eliminating the advantage. The same thing happened to horse racing in the 1970's when the use of pace handicapping supplanted speed handicapping. Those who had the information first did quite well, but as it spread the odds came to reflect the new reality.
I didn't say he was "for the players". I said some of what he does may help some players. I look at "old school" vp in terms of baseball and horse racing with the important aspect being access to information. Bob Dancer just assisted/quickened the dissemination of information and in the process made a lot of money. The decline of money to be made in vp was inevitable. Casino's are not there to help people make money, we all know the gambling industry makes plenty of dumb business decisions without the help of any consultants. Dancer may have sped the process, but it was going to happen any way.
Why can't every great AP/gambling mind to teach me all the secrets and then never tell anyone else!!
Quote: BozI was thinking about this today and pulled this old thread up. Did Bob ever address this on his radio or in his column?
A few days into the Revel promo someone reported in the Revel thread that there were rumors going around the casino that a high profile AP was consulting with Revel over the promo. When I read that the first name that popped into my head was....Bob Dancer. Shack immediately responded in the Revel thread that he was not involved. That left Bob standing there looking like the cat that ate the canary. Someone on vpFREE asked Bob directly if he was involved. Bob said he would answer the question on his radio show.
I think it was either the July 4th or July 11th show. His shows are archived on his website. Munchkin asked Bob if he was consulting with Revel. Bob said he wasn't but had been in contact with a friend he called "Deep Throat" who was friends with Revel management. Bob admitted that he told Deep Throat that Revel would get crushed on the $25 video pokers. Munchkin was incredulous.
"Why would you do that?" Munchkin asked and I could hear the incredulity in his voice.
"It was friend to friend" Bob said.
Munchkin let it drop but the silence was golden.

We've talked about this here extensively. Find Montana
on a map and you'll get an idea about the size of Dancer's
ego.
Did he delete your posts specifically while retaining posts from that time frame, or did he delete the time frame all together? Either way, he or his webmaster likely has a backup copy somewhere and could shoot you an electronic copy. We had a guy on my bbs that archived everything like that from the beginning even though posts timed out after 90 days. I'm assuming you're gathering your writings from various forums and had some good ones you wanted to retrieve and preserve. It can be done by anyone, but is most easily done by one of the web administrators. You might get a response if you posted an open request on the forum, especially since your stuff is so interesting and unusual. Someone may well have kept it just because they enjoyed it.

Babs, I just found your post here, and my drunken post I found here as well. An AP buddy I hadn't seen in a couple of years came to visit me. We hit the bar and got all drunked up. When we got back to my place he wanted to hear me on the radio show. I was too drunk to find it, and drunk enough to want to fight because I couldn't find it. I just checked, sober of course, and it's still there. But still I think Bob deserves a knuckle buster if we ever shake hands, just for general principle.
Possibly, a honest and REAL one. Some people just make stuff up. know what i mean? PS don't for get to voteQuote: tournamentkingWhy are you always crowing about being drunk? What kind of life is that?
He seems to back up what he is saying with, accurate details, names of games, many witnesses, and ACTUAL MATH.Quote: tournamentkingAlright I guess, but believing what drunks say seems to be more on the mercy side of things, if you know what I mean.

mickeycrimm can more than defend himself, but I will tell you he is among my favorite people on this board. He is as real as it gets and as honest about himself as he is about the life, including the drinking. He knows what he knows and what he doesn't, and what he knows, he rocks. It would be worth your time (since you're new, you may not know this is available) to click on his name in blue, and go read his posts from around 3 months ago, when we teased him into telling some stories about who he is.
Beachbum, what do you mean by "he can more than defend himself"? I hope you mean on a forum, because a 60 yr. old who drinks heavily needs friends, not enemies.
Quote: tournamentkingI was unaware I was opening up a can of worms. I guess he's a popular dude and I will go back and read past posts as was suggested. However, I'm someone who does volunteer work with AA groups at times, and while some of them may be very charasmatic by way of suggestion, indirect communication, and distant likeability, they are all prone to being needy. Incredible imaginations and partial fact-laced storeytelling are common vehicles they use.

Man, you are new here but so am I....I have to say I 10000% agree with this particular post, perhaps not the entire thread but this post!
I have been though my share of alcohol dependent people and man, not fun at all.
The last line of your post was particularly striking.....
As for mickey, I'm sure he is a cool dude and wish him nothing but the best!

I mean, he is very expressive and can speak for himself. I've no idea how combative he is, if at all. As Axel said, he tells great stories lyrically that not only have the ring of truth but the facts check out independently. He's been on drunk-posting a few times, but I have no idea if he's a "problem drinker" or anything in that direction.

Good way of phrasing that, I'm going to steal it.
Distant likeability, that's how Obama got elected.
It never lasts, as we found out.

I can tell you, as an independent fact checker, that I know Mickey Crimm personally. He's a two fisted drinking son of a bitch. He's been known to screw wild women. Don't try to out drink the asshole. He'll put you in the ditch. We have heard by false rumors that he is also good at quelling uprisings, converting virgins, starting revolutions, and is an all around asshole

Still laughing....happy thanksgiving, mickey!
I vote mickey for President. We need a hard nut in the White House to deal with all the hard nut issues :)
Quote: BuzzardSomeday when you are sober mickey, tell us about the people who have been hurt by your alcoholism. Excluding yourself of course !
Buzz, the only person who pays the price for my booze habit is me. I just came off a two day running drunk. It was a typical event. The money I threw over the bar and the money I didn't make because I was drinking is about a $1000 money swing to me. But I'm not hurting for any money. I just returned from a 4 week road trip. It was supposed to go a little longer but I came in at 200% of expectation and called it quits. I was up at the crack of dawn every day and worked until 7 or 8 PM. I only had a few beers the whole trip.
Now I'm back home in Great Falls with a lot of time off. The next road trip won't be until late January. My friends are all working stiffs living from paycheck to paycheck. They know I'm an easy touch for a loan until payday. I did a little partying with my friends.
But now it's time to do something constructive. I published a 50 page genealogy report for my family a few years back. The 18th century is in bad need of a rewrite as I have gained a lot more information since then. So I think I will work on that. I'm a pretty good genealogy sleuth. I may start a genealogy thread on WoV and give some advice and tips on how to trace your ancestors.
My laptop has been freezing up and then taking 20 minutes to reboot. My computer repair man is also a drinking buddy. He thinks my hard drive is going out. He's supposed to work on it this weekend. So I need to store all my data before then.
From some of the posts here I think some may be concerned about my drinking. I'm not a total degenerate. I never touch the stuff when I'm working. I only drink a few days a month. But I'm a beer and shot man from hell. I can pound the stuff down. I've never sought treatment. I've never attended AA. And I'm not looking for any help.
Oh, yes. I need to practice putting up pictures in a WoV post. There are lots of games I can show you guys. And there is one game called Treasure Chest Keno where I need help with the math in the bonus round. I guess I'll have to wait until Hap fixes my laptop.
I guess some may think I'm a hopeless case. But I don't. Lou Gehrig never had anything on me. I'm the luckiest man on earth.
I'm going to Thanksgiving dinner with friends this evening. So Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

Why would you, nothing's wrong. Just because a
person drinks doesn't mean he's out of control
with it. Lots of people drink and function just fine,
and have for thousands of years. No worries.
