I might read it, he's a good writer. I've never really had any interest in outright cheating or methods I would consider cheating, so haven't really read anything like that.
I was reading about the, "Savannah," thinking, "How would that work, they always separate the stack to verify all the chips are the same denomination," I guess the Savannah is why they do that!

American Roulette is a wonderful book. I read it a couple years ago.
There is a "Breaking Vegas" episode about Richard Marcus and his past posting team. I think its titled "The Ultimate Cheat" or something like that. The production is really cheesy, but the story is pretty freaking good.

It's not exactly shocking that a casino would ban a surreptitious way of accessing computer apps from a casino.
If you are familiar with Hough Transforms they are an image processing technique whereby a mathematical transform is performed, and seemingly random looking scatter plots can be shown to have an underlying linear structure. With the advantage of having a computer processor in the casino you could effectively detect marked cards that the normal eye could never see.
Decks of cards could be generated where 10-K have an underlying structure on the back of the card, that this image transformation could detect. You would give the player a big advantage in both blackjack and in baccarat.
Such transforms would go way and beyond the advantage of having perfect card counting strategies.
It's like the supposed strategy Phil Ivey was accused of using. If you had special cards where the supposed straight lines between the diamonds deviated by only a few degrees, it would be invisible to the naked eye. However a Hough transform would pick up the marked cards easily.
