I wonder if this is a good thing or bad thing for those of us attending the SHFL Game Demo day.

Is it ever when a buyout occurs?

So Ballys had people at the shooting at Minxx as well?

Isn't Pac-Man a Namco product?
Edit: it is, but it was distributed in the US by Midway.
Is it still on?Quote: DJTeddyBearHoly crap.

I sent Roger an email to congratulate him on this news, and to ask if the game demo is still on.
His reply was brief: "See you Monday."

Do they? Bally's techs can't also service SHFL's table games machines? Bally's sales folks can't add SHFL's products to the portfolio that they're already selling? It seems like there's a lot of overlap in the field where two sets of staff could easily become one.
you own a lot of stock. The new company always has
to put their 'brand' on the new acquisition, and that
means replacing execs with their own people.

Can be very good for some (job security if the company is on unsettled footing). Some execs are very happy when they get brought out... they get a nice handshake, and they go to a smaller company and repeat the process of building up... I know several folks at the level above me who live for building up enterprises into companies that get merged into larger ones, get paid and repeat.
Course there will be job losses... but that's capitalism in action... make things more efficiently, produce faster, leaner and with less. Just as it should be.
