Well I would guess if you are homeless and want to get arrested come visit FREEMONT St. I cant see them sitting back and watch the visitors disappear because of the panhandlers

I am certainly not defending the attack, but from what I saw on the local news tonight, the group of 5, 19 to 20-some things were also pretty drunk. Big surprise at 3:30 am! Lol. Reports say the group actually taunted the homeless guy. Again, that doesn't justify anything, but IMO, the group has to take some responsibility. You just don't put yourself in that situation.

hmmm...young people were standing on concrete? I hear that in some states that provides just cause for a disproportionately violent response.

Nothing would have happened had the guy not called him "juggaho."
"Juggalos," a quasi-tribal group of losers who pattern themselves after their favorite group, ICP, have a history of violence, both among themselves and against their detractors.
Don't mess with the juggalos: just ignore them.
Calling a juggalo a "juggaho" is like using the "N" word to label a black felon who is high on crack: hello, violence.

I see this often- a group of "preppy college guys" verbally abusing the homeless. Its not cool.

Somewhere Tony Hsieh is crying, seeing his dream and investment for what it really is. Until the city makes the hard decisions to deal with the homeless, like putting them on a bus with $50 each to San Francisco, these type situations will continue.

The homeless problem is really geting on me on my recent trips you get approached by these people on every block. I don't walk around nearly as much as I use too.

They think its cool.
I seem to remember a few months ago a group of San Francisco law students got plastered and despite being at a casino where tail of all type and ages is plentifully available they started going after some sort of avian tail. Be surprised at what people think is cool these days.
Faux downtown shopping centers flourish or perish depending upon alot of factors, but real downtowns perish because nobody can deal effectively with the homeless or the traffic.

In other news, we let former members of terrorist organizations immigrate. I highly doubt we don't have a list of IRA members.

People insist on giving people on the street money as good will. Operant conditioning in action. Cruel it may be, but completely unstructured welfare is even worse than the usual kind, unless you're trying to create homeless cityscape
