Another question to those more gifted than i am at Math ..

if i have 5 dices ... and i have 3 rolls ... whats the odd on getting 5 sixes .. and whats the odds on getting 5 the same of any number .. ?

1 roll getting 5 sixes : 1/6^5 = 0.0129%
1 roll not getting 5 sixes: 1 - 0.129% = 99.9871%
3 rolls not getting 5 sixes in any roll= 99.9871%^3 = 99.9614%
3 rolls getting 5 sixes in at least one roll = 1 -99.9614% = 0.0386%. That's around 1 in 2592 tries.


1 roll getting 5 the same = 1/6^5 * 6 = 0.0772%
1 roll not getting 5 the same = 1- 0.0772% = 99.9228%
3 rolls not getting 5 the same in any roll = 99.9228%^3 = 99.7687%
3 rolls getting 5 the same in at least one roll = 1 - 99.7687% = 0.2313%. That's around 1 in 432 tries.

Note that these numbers are not "Yahtzee" probabilities, if that's what OP is possibly asking. Rolling Yahtzees are significantly easier than this since you can hold dice.

Any Yahtzee is about 4.6% when always going for a Yahtzee.
