free rooms coming after last weeks happenings..
AC might get 4 inches or so.

AC might get 4 inches or so.
It'll cover the tents the refugees from Sandy are
still living in since FEMA abandoned the area.
Magically, BOTH nights are Comped for me!
I may actually go down if I can get let out of work early tomorrow.
Hopefully, the buses from NYC are still running so I can sleep the whole way down at 40 mph!
I do have rooms available every weekend to me...
I have not yet decided on whether or not I will play at R or go next door to Showboat and/or Taj
The Northeast is supposed to begin with rain tomorrow turning into snow and then on Saturday get about a foot of snow (however, this is supposed to actually bypass AC)
bedwetter - let me know if you make it down to AC
Any words of wisdom for this weekend?
I am surprised Buzz has not graced us with his presence in here yet...

Bob - last weekend was certainly hotly debated here on the forums - let's hope this weekend brings a POSITIVE experience that generates just as much discussion - give the WIZ something fun to read while he recovers from being under the weather
I am surprised Ace has not updated his health situation.

Doing so...check the thread
Stopped at Bally's to play a $40 direct bet - placed it on Red on the roulette table - came in Black (the 5th black in a row according to tally board lol)
Just checked in at R!
Trip reports to come.
Quote: aceofspadesOK - it is pouring rain and high winds in AC - but no snow

Have a safe and winning trip to Reno!
Started off losing a 19 to a dealer 20...then hit a double down...
Next few hands went downhill - it seemed as if every 2 in the deck came out over the next few hands
the Speed Count went up so I pressed and was dealt a 20 - too bad the dealer ended up with 21
Eventually hit a couple of double downs and halfway through the shoe was up 900
I decided to grab a snack and take a break
Trip +900

Yup, you did good last weekend. Don't pay any attention
to the naysayers, screw em every chance you get.

Nice. That's a great start.
I won't make it down there this weekend. weather too rough.

Dancer said you went ballistic and that he thought you were playing H17 because of the double down. He clearly said you were wrong and Munchkin avoided it by saying that it was positive ev. I'm still waiting for someone to say the casino was wrong in their interpretation of the rules. In the meantime it's snowing where I am so I'm off to the supermarket. Those wet floors are just waiting for a slip and fall. It's positive ev right?

I will introduce the security tape as evidence of me not going ballistic in any way at all. I sat there quietly through all phases of the situation.

I believed you then and I still do and was surprised to hear that on the radio show. Who knows what liberties will be taken when the movie comes out. :) Good cards to you and more importantly good health.
Quote: BuzzardThe tape will not have audio. Lawyers need not stand to be obnoxious.
You would see I am barely speaking. Just checking emails on my phone waiting for shift manager.
Quote: BuzzardI usually said my FU's softly as they seem to have more impact that way. LOL
Were you carrying a big stick at the time?
Quote: BuzzardNo. But in my old age I try to avoid conflict. But I do find myself looking for a handy weapon. Last time it was a stapler. But I calmed down before rage took over. I have a low threshold for pain.
I heard Milton has a Swingline stapler you can use.
Quote: BuzzardUh Oh Ace is about to become an accessory before the fact. He better get back to the tables before he is disbarred.
Buzz - are you getting any of my references?
big stick (after you said you talk softly) - reference to Teddy Roosevelt "walk softly and carry a big stick"
Milton and Swingline stapler - reference to the movie Office Space
Where's Bob?
No chance of going down as my neighborhood is buried in snow from all sides and I'd like to clean my sidewalk before some child slips and falls.
Had a decent winning session at My. Airy on Thursday though, so my weekend fix is taken care of!!
Quote: aceofspadesI went down, had dinner, then came back to room to watch tv for a few minutes and fell asleep - just woke up - thinking about whether I will go play or wait until morning.
How's the crowd there Ace?
People still showing up or is looking like a Tuesday night???(empty tables and no waitresses in sight until you start losing!)
EvenBob. The fact that no financial remuneration was involved in no way absolves Ace of his non-performance.
Of course Ace can insist on a jury of his peers. AC is full of divorce lawyers. Most of them can be found under the boardwalk.
Ace : " You've done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency? "
this guy had 500 up and got 3,3 against 2 he asked dealer the basic strategy which was a split - he says no split an hits and gets a 6 for a 12 and he doesnt hit (crazy). dealer turns over a 4 then a 7 then an 8 for 21
Won the first 6 hands for 1300
Decided to get up (asked to see next card of
course it was an Ace lol)
But, I am a hit and run player so plus 1300 in 6 hands works for me
Trip is +2200
Quote: 1BBAce, do you prefer playing heads up?
Yes usually and you?
3,3 v. 2 split is a risky move for a very small incremental gain. It could be that he didn't want to have up to $2,000 exposed on one hand. He could have easily lost $2k instead of $500 on the hand.Quote: aceofspadesJust saw this:

That said, I agree it was the wrong move and you should always play the correct strategy no matter how much $$ you have out. He should have hit the 12 against the 2, too.

I asked the dealer what happened - apparently he ran out of money and could not afford to split.

Don't ask Mr. V that before making sure he knows you are talking about BJ and not his sex life.

Might have been a costly hand had he split though.
He'd have 9 on the first hand, then pull a 7 for 16(possibly doubled for $1000 total)
Then he'd get the 8 on the other 3, for 11 and certainly double that one.
To much what ifs to deal with and while it was clearly played wrong, it's easy for us to say that sitting here and not in the hot seat with $1500-$2000 on the line!
Quote: aceofspadesYes usually and you?
That is a big yes!

Obviously he shouldn't have been betting that kind of money but this happens every day. He would have had a nice 11 to double down on the second 3.
