Forgive me if this is a dumb question. I know that the Wizard has a section for promotional and match play strategies, but they seem to be based on one match play. Would it make any difference if you have multiple match plays? It seems like that wouldn't increase EV, but could lower variance.

I am going to Vegas with my girlfriend and her parents in March and noticed that the ACG has a coupon for a $25 even money match play at the Golden Gate for new members. We plan on going to Du-Pars for breakfast and will probably sign up with the coupon. The Sahara once let us bet on Pass and Don't Pass on the same roll with the match plays, but the Palms and others vetoed that strategy.

Her parents are very risk averse, so I think their personal utility is maximized when minimizing losses, as opposed to maximizing gains. That said, assuming we can use these coupons simultaneously, but not on opposing bets, does anyone have any advice on what might be best?

That's my go-to strategy, but the Palms didn't allow it, so I would like to have a decent backup plan if the GG forbids it. After being disallowed to do that at Palms, we bet it all on Pass for in one roll and I shot a 7, tipped $5, and left.

I'd probably cover the 12, just be prevent any possibility of a loss.

Shouldn't I cover the 12?

maybe put two of them in disguise.

Play the odds,

Use one match play at a time on the pass, and have someone else bet the don't . the don't better should not show the match coupon or appear to be part of the group.

Then on the 4th round have the person bet pass and someone else on don't.

However this works better playing roulette (red/black) as the speed works in you're favor. Yes worse house edge but faster.

MOST places will let you do it, but you can avoid trouble by not making it obvious you know each other.

Baccarat: 1 MP on Player, 1 MP on Banker, next one do the same thing. Better than roulette because 0/00 on roulette you lose both of the MP on Red/Black. (On Baccarat, tie equals push, cant lose if you bet same amount on both side. But you have to pay 5% commission if the Banker side wins).

I think I read the Wiz actually saying he'd rather do MP on Baccarat. But I don't know if GG has that gane, since the OP stated the MP is for there..

Hearts, I didn't think the GG would have baccarat. If they do it's the better deal.

You could also do a match-play martingale....

Bet $25 + MP on dont pass,

if lose, bet $75 + MP on dont pass,

if lose, bet $175 + MP on dont pass

if lose, bet $375 + MP on dont pass

This has a positive expectation because of the match play. And you'll win close to 15/16ths of the time.

I like that. A lot. Good thinking, SodaWater.

Man up and just play them serially.

People who offset match plays suck. Furthermore, you ruin it for those of use who don't.

Wasn't it a $25 max match play though? Or is it +EV even with the MP only covering $25 of the bigger bets...(too lazy/tired to do the math).
