Quote: NicksGamingStuffMy weight loss does not seem to be as popular as HB"s. Oh well.
Hang in there Nick.....not being as popular as the train wreck that was much of the HB thread is a good thing. Just cause folks aren't posting as much doesn't mean some people aren't following your journey. Good luck!
Quote: NicksGamingStuffI have been having issues with blisters on my feet in the same spot every time I go for a "long" run. I have tried the blister stick thing that looks like a small deodorant stick that is supposed to reduce friction.
Look into moleskin. Walgreens/Savon foot section.
Quote: BeardgoatNick... You think you'll lose 33 pounds in 5 weeks? How do you figure to go from 192 to 159 in 5 weeks?
Hi I don't think I will, it is what the myfitness pal app says if everyday were like today. There is no way I can do 4 hours of exercise everyday I would get sick. A key part of exercise is a day or two off a week to let the body heal. I like to think with all my free time exercising is better time spent then just watching junk on Netflix. I have applied to dozens of jobs on USAJobs.gov and the nevada state job page. I don't have much hope for the monster/careerbuilder jobs I have applied to.
Why are non-cotton socks a good thing to wear for running? I thought cotton was good because it breathed and absorbed any sweat.
job you can imagine, thats why you landed it. They
always have openings. The reason it sucks is you have
to put up with crap on both ends. The customer literally
screams in your face that he's getting screwed, and the
company wants you to cut every corner possible, screw
the customer every chance you get, and make them like
it. So no matter what you do, somebody isn't happy. So
the job has a huge turnover rate.
The nephew stays with it because he got a cherry job in
a place nobody wants to work: Montana. He gets paid
really well and doesn't handle all that many claims. There's
a huge amount of driving involved, which he gets paid
for. He's been divorced twice because he's gone so much.
But he loves big game hunting and MT has that up the
wazoo.
Don't be shocked if you hate this job worse than dealing.
People get really in your face pissed when you tell them
they're getting half the money they think they should get.
had to deal with customers who had been lied to all day. Either told the problem was not AT&T's or promised it would have been fixed hours ago. Once I got the hang of it, I never had any real troubles with irate customers. LET THEM VENT !
Quote: NicksGamingStuffI am used to unhappy customers at work. Fortunately for me I will be behind a desk.
How can you be a claims adjuster and work
behind a desk? They go into the field and
assess the claim, figure out the damages
and lie to the customer about how much
they'll be getting. How can you do that behind
a desk?
Edit. I was just reading that most new adjusters
start on a desk job so they can be trained in how
to best screw the customer. These people wait
for the day they can become field adjusters and
get out of the office and dealing with screaming
customers all day.
I have had to deal with claims adjusters several times
in my life. You haven't started yet so I can be honest.
I hate them, they're professional liars and crooks. They
will do everything they can not to pay you what you
have coming and lie thru their teeth to make you go
away. I'm sure they don't start out that way, but the
constant pressure from above overwhelms them.
Yes I include my wifes nephew in that assessment. He's
a jerk, and he's in the right profession. When he was
a teen, he relentlessly browbeat his parents and now
he has a job that suits him perfectly.
Nick, you become what you do.
The good thing is, if you don't like the company
you work for, stick with it for 6 months and you
can go anywhere and get an adjuster job because
you have experience. You will eventually find
a company you can live with.
a private adjuster to counter the rip off amount
the insurance company will try and stick you with.
Quote: NicksGamingStuffToday is probably my best day so far. I ran 15.8 miles, did yoga, and am about to go to body combat. With the food I have eaten today, and the calories I burned from exercise I will be at -1800 for today.
How long does the 15.8 take you? and whats body combat?

Hi, my time was 3:01:57 for 15.81 miles. It is not an impressive time, but I was happy I did the distance. I pretty much walked after 14 miles, I was exhausted and dehydrated. I should get one of those Camelbaks so I can take water with me.

Really well worth while, or just a water belt and bottle, with a couple of snacks (jelly beans or similar), really helps you keep going.

Body Combat
I joined Nick at 24 hour fitness tonight (Wigwam and Pecos Road), and I tried the body combat class. lasted about 2 minutes. It was Way beyond me now, and I have to rebuild my heart health gently.
So I went to a tread mill, and walked 2.1 miles at 3.2 miles per hour, with a heart rate of 115. That was VERY good for me. I cannot approach his level of cardio fitness yet.
