So on a whim, I decided to go to Black Oak Casino last night...
Well, I got there, and I had only taken $100 with me (just to fart around, really) and I had to split it between Me/Kris/Mom/Granma...So we each took a $20 (I took $40, cuz I'm the boss, lol) and played...
I told Kris that I wanted to try a Quick Hits machine (cuz Mission146 did so well on them). So I slipped in a $20 and hit MAX BET ($1.50 a spin) on a Bars&Stars machine...
Right off the bat we hit the FREE GAMES bonus...and I let Kris pick, and she immediately got a pair of "20x3" and the WILD icon...
So we got 25 free spins at 3x pay (already at MAX BET)
Well, the reels spun out...and in the end, we had only gotten $45...SERIOUSLY...I was hoping to hit like a few QUICK HITS (Shoot, even just 5 would have paid $45 ALONE)
Just kinda ranting...lol...
But I guess I made up for it, because I ran the $20 I slipped into it up to $100 and cashed it out...then followed it with ANOTHER $100 win on a Caveman Keno machine (I know they're BAD, but I just am lucky at them!)

i love quick hits. it's my fav slot machine.
nyc casino gives me free $ but its no good at e-craps. i have to use it on slots. maryland live allows free $ to be sued in e-craps.

anyway, 25 w/3x multilier and u only got $45? thats a bad roll of the RNG.

5quick hit symbols = the mini jackpot which i guess was at $45 in your case. then yuo add the 3x multiplier, thus $135!
Craps is paradise (Pair of dice). Lets hear it for the SpeedCount Mathletes :)

Nah, 5 was at $15...but x3 would have been $45...
We also hit like 4 subsequent bonus rounds (all getting like 11-15 spins) and usually ended up with about $15 per...thus running it up to $100...

I guess I don't understand this rant. You turned 20 dollars into 100 playing a -EV game. You should be happy about the positive variance. That's part of the psychology that makes slot machines so successful. The machine gave you the illusion that you were going to have a big hit, but you ended up with a modest win. A lot of players end up playing it back until their balance says 0.00.

25free rolls at 3x multiplier is the top bonus. you should expect jackpot $$$ (relative to a $0.01 game).
i've always gotten at least +$100 and sometimes $200s.

+$45 is like 10free rolls at 2x multiplier, 2nd to lowest free bonus.

I would love to see that machine!

The multiplier during Free Games on any Quick Hits I have ever played is premised on the base pay of 10 FOR 1 ($15.00 for a $1.50/spin *3 = $45.00)

I have never seen one where the pay on the Bonus Game is based on the Progressive amount, except I think they may default to the Progressive if the Progressive amount of a 5-9 Quick Hits combination is GREATER than the amount that would be won considering Base Pay * Multiplier.

If there is one that bases the 2x and 3x on the Progressive totals...play it until there is nothing left of your index finger but a nub!!! It's either seriously screwed up, or the payout schedule on the rest of the game is different, hopefully the former.

I'm glad that you ended up ultimately winning!

If we assume a base pay of 90% (and I know the Free Games are premised differently, no Quick Hits Platinum Symbols, for starters) then you essentially took 25 spins at $1.50 for $37.5, the expectation of which is $37.50 *.9 = $33.75, which should be multiplied by three for $101.25 total expected value of the 25 FS @ 3x.

That seems right, I usually expect to see a swing of a C-Note or better when I hit 20 + 5 FS * 3x Pays on the Quick Hits Platinum w/ $1.50 Max Bet.

If it makes you feel better, you at least beat the expectation for 15 Free Games at 2x, which is between $40-$41.

FWIW, the odds are very much against you hitting five Quick Hits Symbols (or more) in any one spin in a sample size of 25 spins.

Furthermore, if your main concern is getting good value out of bonus games and not with the Progressive Values, then Blazing 7's is probably your best machine. Blazing 7's is peppered with Moderate payouts on the Base Game whereas Black & White Sevens and Red, White & Blue tend to be a little more top-heavy on the payout schedule.
