I can pick to stay at any of the Caesars properties at no cost (except Caesars palace) and picked PH although that can be changed if need be.
In particular, can anyone comment on how smokey it is in the casino and if they have a no smoking section? My fiance is pretty sensitive to smoke
Thanks!
We stayed in what was the PH Westgate Towers in March 2012 - now Elara, I think. 9 out of 10. Fantastic rooms with good views. May have changed their pricing but we got in for mid-week for around $110 a night. Double sized suites with full kitchen, living room on one side and bedroom huge bathroom on the other. In room laundry, full size fridge, TV's all over - even over jacuzzi tub. Window shades roll down as screen for whole wall projector mounted above kitchen.
Like I said - it may have changed some but if their new pricing is comparable it is a steal!
Smoke and loud are the two issues most mentioned in relation to the PH, but other than that most people consider it a good bargain.
Other casinos such as the top of the line ones Wynn/Encore, Venetian, tend to be less smokey simply because they invest in good equipment to draw the smoke out and vent it.
A very few casinos have non smoking areas for slots and for Bingo.
Those one and two dollar craps/blackjack places in the far reaches of Hendertucky are often mentioned on this board and are the absolute worst for smoking. Jocular references to taking a gas mask with you to those two small casinos are quite serious. Its pure hell on the lungs.
I'm a little worried because when we went to the Hollywood Hard Rock she could hardly stay in the casino cause the smoke got to her too much. They had a small non-smoking room and we were ok in there. My guess is that the Vegas casino will have a better air filtration then the HArd Rock though, even I considered it exceptionally smokey
Be pretty similar smoke wise. More 6-5 BJ at ph.

Yeah I fully expect to see half the tables offering "crapjack". That's ok though, as long as the 3:2 tables aren't blackchip only I should be in the clear

That's because the casino owners aren't in the healthcare biz; they're in the taking-your-money biz. And everyone's money is worth taking regardless of how much they stink.
A non-smoking area of a casino is like having a non-peeing area of a public kiddie pool.
Quote: candiedappleWhat are the least smokey casinos in Vegas? Would you say PH is worse than the average strip casino or about the same?
I spent some time in Aria, Cosmopolitan, Bellagio, and Wynn during the middle of last week. All had pretty good air quality. So did Mandalay Bay when I was there earlier in the summer. I tend to find air quality is related both to property age and gambling costs, and I'm personally willing to spend an extra 7c per bet (that is, moving from a $5 to $10 table, or $10 to $15) to breathe cleaner air when I play. Well-heeled gamblers tend to smoke less.

At least until you reach the douche-with-cigar level:-)

I plan on skipping that level and heading straight to the $1M-front-money-and-private-salon level. Or maybe I'll just buy the Trop and make it nonsmoking. As soon as casinos start putting in gaming machines that don't involve spinning reels, the commonplace slot player who smokes will give way to video gamers who don't. When was the last time you (anyone) considered lighting up while playing Xbox?

Oh, my! Think of the service that slot designers - *ahem* - could do for society if they just made the games require both hands!!

I guess we aren't counting joints and bongs.....
Quote: FleaStiffLeast smokey is the MResort and Spa seven miles south of the strip. It has the newest and most powerful air exchange system that exists in Vegas.

Doesn't City Center have some totally smoke free areas - I'm thinking I saw something about that for the Aria, perhaps?

I don't know how current this list from LVA is, but it seems like slim pickings. Sadly.

I am not a "smoker," but more of a chipper. Hence, when I'm in Vegas, I smoke, usually about half a pack a day. I suspect the same is true of many of the "smokers" in Vegas.
When I took a 2-month trip through Europe, I smoked excessively. I must be lucky, because when I came home I kept it up for about a week and then cut it out. No huge cravings, no withdrawals.
