I was under the impression that "low limit" games were a thing of the past on the strip. Imagine my surprise when I saw two (count them, two) $5 minimum crap games in progress at PH during my recent trip (August 13-17). Are strip casinos (at least some of them) dropping limits in order to draw players, or is a $5 limit game a not particularly rare thing to see on the Strip, especially around 6 PM on a weeknight (which is when I was playing)?

No, it's not particularly rare. In fact, I would say $5 is the default on day and early graveyard shift at Flamingo, IP, Bally's, PH, and Harrah's. I've even played it at Mirage in the mornings. Not at all hard to find a $5 game on the Strip these days. (But that's too expensive even for me! I go to Joker's Wild.)
