Here's a clue. This sport could not be saved in Baltimore by Johnny Unitas. Any Baltimoron will not "duck" this question !

Wait just a minute, the sport of duckpin bowling may be dying out but I would love to resurrect it as the state sport. (I do think our official sport of jousting is pretty cool though)

Father I am old enough to have set duckpins on Charles Street. I remember the Sherman automatic pinsetters when they first came out. Jimmy Deitsch was my hero. I actually bowled in a mixed league with Toots Barger. This was all before the rubber sideboards.
Back then a 120 average would get you an invitation to the Baltimore Sun tournament.

Sad to hear it is dying. Johnny Unitas had a 10 pin bowling alley in Woodlawn and the lights got turned out for non payment during league play. Duckpins is indeed a game of skill. Now Candlepins are different. Rolling with dead wood on the lanes ? What's wrong with those people in Pennsylvania ??

Candlepin in PA??? Thought it was strictly MA, NH, and RI.
I think theres still a few duckpin houses in CT.
The machinery and replacement pins are pretty scarce.

AFAIK no 300 game in either candlepin or duckpin.
Some people need to reimagine their thinking.

Whence cometh the old Hollywood Squares response to "What is a perfect score at bowling"..........
