When I lived in LA from 1999-2002, I always went to cheapovegas.com for the low-down on the city for low, low, low rollers like me. After living overseas for many years, I'm finally getting the chance to visit Vegas again. I went to my favorite site, and all the snark is gone, replaced by hotel offers and kind words about every property, including their favorite target, the El Cortez. Is there any other site that has taken up the banner of cheap vegas for people who want to have fun without blowing the bankroll on green chips and $300/night rooms?

Here is about the closest you'll find. Check out the hotel reviews.

For hotel reviews, there are many sites you can check. Expedia, Travel Advisor, etc. But for casino reviews, especially for information about table minimums and game variety, I second Teddys motion. I can't think of a better site than this one.

Cheapovegas was bought out by another person. Also Cheaporeno is no more.

As I understand the story, one of the original founders died, and the other lost interest in the site. Agreed that the owner watered down all the reviews. I tried to buy it from him, hoping to go back in time to the original reviews, but we couldn't agree on a price.

I've had spotty results, but you may be able to pull off some of the older reviews by using the wayback machine website, if it's still around.

You might want to try a recent guest on the Wizard's radio program, Michael Bluejay. His site is https://easy.vegas

Talk about bringing an old thread back.
Some of us may remember reading about these old school trip reports on Cheapo Vegas.
Here is a link to a copy of much of the old site.
Enjoy the trip down memory lane.

I didn't follow the links, but fondly recall the CheapoVegas Boy blog recounting beef tongue shenanigans in the elevator, and modified restroom signage at Vegas World.
