I don't remember the exact phrasing (it was kind of long), but it said something like (paraphrasing):
"The licensee will not restrict access to the gaming area. Any patron who arrives for the sole purpose of gaming shall be allowed access"
Has anyone else noticed that sign? I don't remember ever seeing a sign like that in any other casino. What does that mean? Are they saying that they can't / won't back off or bar advantage players?
That seems to good to be true. I must be misinterpreting it... but, at the same time, I don't know what else it could be referring to. It seems to be saying that anyone who shows up to gamble will be allowed to gamble.
I have not heard of any regulation that has come from the NGC that would stop casinos from kicking out advantage players......
In fact I am most certain that there has not been such a decree.
Still, interesting sign. how about under age gamblers who arrive solely to gamble???? :)
Quote: TomspurThat makes sense but then an overriding rule would be that the house reserves the right to ask you to leave at any time due ot it being private property?

Oh, no, I didn't think that it was the result of and law or regulation. As I said, I hadn't seen a sign like that anywhere else.

They took the gamble to see if they could get in and lost. They still get to gamble.

As long as they don't get a lock up jackpot or want to cash out chips at the cage.....wooooweeee :)
Do you guys think the legal age to gamble should be 18? how about driving? Shouldn't that be 18 as well?
Its my understanding clubs or places can't charge a cover to a place that has gaming, if in fact you are there for gambling.Quote: AxiomOfChoiceThere may have been something in the sign about the whole underage thing. As I said, it was long and I don't remember all of it. I really wanted to take a picture but the lady doing my players club registration was right there....

Ohhh... that would make more sense.

The complaint: I don't gotta pay nuttin' for your pool, cause the law there is that if you offer ONE game or ONE machine of any sort, I can enter the pool area if I have the intent to play it, irrespective of my dress or your pool fees or my status as a guest at different licensee.
OR
I don't gotta show chips to get into High Limit Gaming Area... that sign by law is Informative and Descriptive but it is not Exclusionary in any way. Gaming is being conducted there and therefore it is open to the public including the hoi poloi.
OR
Just one more example of a lawyer wanting to protect the casino from some future complaint and Social Events and Social Marketing must never be allowed to exclude a gambler. The casino is either Open or Closed, there is no in between. The gaming board recognizes no monetary, dress or other indicia of status or relationship. A member of the public is a member of the public. He need not have a room in the hotel and hotel guests can invite guests from other hotels (or the casino can stop offering ANY gambling at the pool).
