The Fiesta Rancho has the distinction of being the ONLY hotel to charge me for an extra night when I checked out late.
I was playing (and losing winning) at craps at Texas Station, and I walked back to my room at about 1:00 P.M. (Checkout was 12:00 noon). There was a message on my phone saying they had billed me for an extra night. It was only $24.99, but still, the ignominy of it all! Fiesta Rancho is also NOT a nice place. At least book your business at Texas Station which is as middle-of-the-road as you can get.

I hope you stayed the extra night or at least messed up the room before you left?

Still here. Any suggestions are welcome. Shall I leave a "surprise" in the bathtub? :PQuote: rdw4potusI hope you stayed the extra night or at least messed up the room before you left?

Strategically hide some Panda Express leftovers in the room when you vacate?

Most hotels have a stated check out time, an informal grace period, then a "late checkout fee" and then supposedly have an additional night charged.Quote: teddysThe Fiesta Rancho has the distinction of being the ONLY hotel to charge me for an extra night when I checked out late.
Asking for a late check out usually results in a modest charge but merely commenting that you will be a bit late generally does not. Most hotels realize such charges are annoying and are levied only to give housekeeping time to do a good job prior to new guests arriving.
I often drink heavily on my last night in Vegas or get dragged out for some silly show or something and it can be hard to make a check out deadline from time to time particularly if Lady Variance is treating me well in the morning. Mostly such charges are empty threats. Hotels that actually levy them should be disfavored.
