Stayed here 9/19-9/21 on a comp. Really enjoyed it. This is my favorite Stations property I've been to so far (and that includes GVR). A Spanish theme is a great idea for a casino, and while I wish they had put a little more oomph into it (ala Venetian), its undoubtedly impressive. I LOVE the stained glass canopy over the table games pit and the Gaudi bar. If there is a better place to play table games I can't think of one. Played UTH for about 3.5 hours with a great group of players and dealers. Only other play was 100% payback video poker (hit quad deuces). Ate at the Buffet and the quick Mexican place. Buffet is one of the best I've been to; great salad bar with terrific quality and presentation. Mexican place gave me three big tacos, nachos and rice and beans plus a drink for $7, with a full salsa bar. What a deal! Was enough for two meals. Room was nice, big hallways and yellow decor that reminds me of the Suncoast, but more muted and tasteful. Did not go swimming but the pool was huge. Lots of shopping in the area and was able to walk across the street to Savers (aka the upscale thrift store) and pick up some really nice shirts. For some reason early in the morning I walked into the bowling center, and holy cow, it is the most artistic bowling alley I've ever seen. Worth a look inside, I'm not joking -- it even made me want to go bowling. Had a nice conversation with the only other person in there, the cleaner, Patty. I like how friendly the non-casino employees are at Stations. At the end of my stay, hotel comped all my food charges. Would go back.

Thanks, I'll need to keep this place in mind.
I would also suspect that they have very
reasonable room rates compared to the
Strip.
I look forward to checking out places
that are new to me, but this is one I
would have passed over without your tip.

Yeah, if I got everything comped, I'd go back too.
I think this is a perfect example of how Locals Casinos are supposed to compete with all the glitz, glamor and luxury of "The Strip". No Mega-Theme, No Mega Show, No Mega-NightClub. On the Strip, crossing the street for a few shirts would be a hike that would cost a fortune and might cost you an encounter with a tourist's bumper.

Some more details:
-Internet is NOT comped if you have a comped room. It's an extra $9.99. I bought it thinking it was part of the "resort fee," which was also comped. Not so. They ended up comping it anyway.
-Club Madrid is the nightclub/performance venue. Looked to have a lot of cool bands that I'd be interested in seeing. Unfortunately, I was there on a weekday. There is no cover.
-It was a fairly long walk from the rooms to the casino. I needed the exercise.

I wonder if the casino would comp movie tickets and bowling.
Great review Teddy. While I love the strip, I also enjoy staying at other properties. Recently it has been GVR but I may give Sunset a try.

The casino doesn't comp movie tickets, but you can use your Boarding Pass points to purchase tickets at the Regal Cinemas. IIRC, 8500 points for matinee and 11,500 points for regular evening shows. Can't use your Boarding Pass at the concession stand though...
