Vital Vegas wrote a nice article on pop-up casinos at the former Las Vegas Club and Mermaids sites.

Ever since the New York Times published an article about a one-day casino at the former site of the Showboat Casino, I have wanted to take part in the rare, goofy experience of gambling in a trailer.

It's such a crazy Vegas thing—and I want in on it!

the company has to bring in generators and air conditioners and has a list of players, then they open up for a day of gambling that keeps the license legally alive. Write to the company about being on their email list. Got nothing to lose.

We discussed this some time ago, but I don't recall how often the gambling machines have to be offered. Is it 8 hours every three years?

I’m thinking every two years at most.

I base this on the fact that one popped up at Las Vegas Club / Mermaids last week - that was the second time since they closed.

LVC closed 8/20/15. Circa opens in December 2020, so....

I actually did write, and someone from the company took time to reply that none would happen during my vacation dates!

And Scott Roeben played 6/5 DDB (94.66%) and 8/5/4 Double Bonus (94.18%) that day. Ouch.

I'm curious why each location has to be kept active when they will all be rolled into one casino when the construction is complete. Can the owners of the Circa sell or use the other unrestricted licenses for other locations?

It happened again! Former Moulin Rouge Casino!

It's so stupid, but I would LOVE to spend like a half-hour gambling in one of these just to say I did it.

The company I worked for did a few of the pop up casinos. In most cases we tried to avoid having any customers.

Apparently the word is getting around because the Moulin Rouge was "busy" with "around 10 people" playing! 😁
