Took a look at the craps table on the way to the cashier today and it said $5 10X ODDS. Asked the nice dealer what the deal was and she said they changed it a few weeks ago.

The rampart is being taken over 4/1/2012 by new management. They will no longer be run by Cannery Casino's. However what should be good news is that the head of the management taking them over is none other than Michael Gaughn of South Point.
The change in odds could be Cannery trying to suck out evey last drop out of there that they could.

Yes. There's a thread on it in the Rampart forum.
And it's Michael Gaughan, Jr., son of Michael Gaughan, who is currently general manager of JW Marriott aka The Resort at Summerlin which will also contain Rampart Casino as of 4/1.
I don't know about Cannery attempting to suck out every last $. They gave me more free play in March than any casino ever has before in a single month. It's as though they had an account they needed to deplete. I'm more than happy to help them out.

Sooooo...father and son will manage competing casinos that are 200 yards apart? With grandpa's casino right across town too, I suppose...
admission: I realize now that South Point is not Sun Coast. I won't alter my comment...enjoy the laugh at my expense;-)

Michael Jr. works for the Terrible's (Affinity) empire. He will be managing the casino as an employee of Affinity. Jackie doesn't actually own the El Cortez anymore; he transfered it to the Epsteins...(he may still have a small equity position, I'm not sure).

Is Affinity the franchisee at the JW Marriott? That changes my opinion of both Marriott and Affinity...

As far as I know the casino/hotel is owned by its creditors. It used to be owned by some Swiss company. The management contract is now held by Affinity now that Cannery is gone (As of 4/1).Quote: rdw4potusIs Affinity the franchisee at the JW Marriott? As I understand it it's a consulting agreement with Terribles/Affinity. The property is going to be self-managed.
