I just found out that Rush has scheduled another show for Las Vegas. They were at the MGM Grand last August, and now are going back there June 24th. I wanted to go last August, but had a scheduling conflict.
Has anyone seen a concert at the MGM Grand? How are the acoustics in the Grand Garden Arena?

It's a pretty big arena/ The cheap seats are not much fun.

I saw Kanye West in October 2013, I was disappointed with the sound quality, they had a rodeo right before the concert and I think they didn't have time to work out all their sound issues prior to concert. I am a big fan of Kanye, so I had a good time overall but I spent upwards of $350 for two decent tickets and my experience was cheapened by the poor sound quality. Not to mention, I overheard MGM staff was buying same tickets I bought for 4 seats at $100 total! I think its an alright venue as long as they aren't doubling up shows as the prep time is eliminated. I saw the Billboard awards in 2012 that were televised and they definitely put time in preparation, I got those tickets for free, go figure. I've also been to a Rammstein concert at UNLV which was a better venue in my opinion.

I am absolutely shocked that Rush can still play the MGM. I had no idea they could still sell enough tickets to justify that.

Rush? At the MGM? I agree, how would they ever sell enough tickets? But at least they're human beings and unlike that creep Kanye West. Totally worthless racist.

I saw Coldplay there in 2008 during my batchelor party blur........
We had relatively decent seats, first tier upper level ($100) but I would say that as a venue goes the sound is not great. I thought the sound was better at the Mandalay Bay events center when I watched the traveling Michale Jackson show there in 2011.

Realize that the Grand Garden Arena is huge. Unless you are close you will be looking at dots on a stage. And it is not a formal concert hall with premium sound. But then it's a concert and there will be all sorts of noise in the peanut gallery from lots and lots of peanuts.

Tickets have gone up so much it's ridiculous to the point I don't understand it. These prices people quote are actual face value or marked up by resellers?

Probably the only thing I will ever agree with you on. I would not see West if you paid me to.Quote: tournamentkingRush? At the MGM? I agree, how would they ever sell enough tickets? But at least they're human beings and unlike that creep Kanye West. Totally worthless racist.
