I stayed here for over a week a few years ago. The room was on par with the mid-range Strip casinos, but for a better price. Of course, the flip-side is your stuck downtown with fewer eating/gambling/entertainment options.
If you do stay downtown (without a car, as I was) the Deuce was a good option for getting to the Strip. I didn't feel overly comfortable going to and from the bus stop late at night, but the bus itself was a clean/safe environment.
The only thing I remember not liking about the room was that I had to pay like $13/day to use the internet. I guess this is standard, so not really a knock on the Nugget, but it was annoying for such a long stay (I think I paid it one day only).

The ratio of people to cake is too big.

I stay here because they give me 3 free nights whenever I want for what I would consider pretty meager action I give them.
The place itself is fine, rooms aren't huge but good. The new pool is cool and for the most part friendly dealers and bartenders.
If you like downtown, where walking from casino to casino isn't a mile walk between properties, then stay here and get a golden nugget card and see what you can get for comps down the road.

Stayed in the New Rush Tower this past weekend. Very nice, it's a combo of the Palms and Red Rock. You had better like the color Brown !!! The bathtub is very large and deep (be careful when getting out) They could of taken the rooms a bit further by adding in room refrig. But for the Golden Nugget it is a nice improvement. It is an all suite NON Smoking Tower. The Chart House bar looks very inviting.

So is that why the "gold club" rush rooms were just completed in December 2012?

It seems everyone hates this especially when its provided by something called Cox Net. Best thing is to determine your internet usage needs and check your email around the ever-changing free spots even if you get one of these spots that are nominally free but slow to a crawl after twenty or thirty minutes.Quote: dkI had to pay like $13/day to use the internet. Tuscany used to be "available" in the open areas but "offered" in the rooms and exhibit area. Stratosphere was free but would slow down after a half hour. The M Resort was free but they had to "blank out" their lobby area long ago and I've no idea what the current situation is.
