Additions to Wizard's Review

The hotel at Casino Royale was formerly a Travel Lodge, which is why it looks like a motel. As a generalization the games are generally pretty bad, with the 100X odds on craps just a loss leader. It is only offered on one of the two craps tables and the minimum has steadily crept up to the point that you need a $5 minimum to take advantage of the 100X odds.

The wizard mistakenly said you can get 100X odds at Boulder station. In fact the odds are restricted to 10X at that casino, but are still being offered at 100X at Eastside Cannery near Sam's Town on the Boulder strip. They usually keep their minimum at $3 making it much easier to use free odds of 20X to 100X. If you are going to make a serious play at craps then you should rent a car as it is 6.5 miles from the Las Vegas strip, and public transportation is slow. Alternatively if you are going to be gambling thousands of dollars and you intend to drink heavily, you should be prepared for large taxi fares.

I'd like to see an Eastside Cannery review. Last time I played some pretty serious craps there and had a great time. The dealers are very good, and the 100X odds is a great deal. They also have pretty good video poker, although they are always screwing around with it. I've heard the hotel is very nice. The food options might be a drawback, though.

You've got Mexican, Chinese, Deli, and Prime Rib along with a buffet. You can always get a Tommy Burger across the street. There is one of the old fashioned places across the street called Longhorn Hotel Casino which has diner food (big portions, low prices, cigarette smell).

Well, as MeatLoaf said: Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad!!
I'd sure like to do that 100x odds... and if its a three dollar or five dollar table so much the better. Even if its just ONE bet, I'd sure like to do it. I think I'd prefer to do it at the Eastside Cannery though.

We tried to stay at Casino Royale this past weekend. The room we got was pleasant, but stuffy. When we tried turning on the AC, it didn't turn on. I called the front desk, who informed me that the AC was off, and that the hotel was on central heating. To get ventilation, just open the window.

So we did. Our first-floor room not only overlooked the parking lot, but also the trash compactor.

In the time it took for my husband to check us out of the room, I booked us at Planet Hollywood.

I don't care how cheap the room is, we have limits, and this is far beyond them. Be forewarned!
