The sushi restaurant on the third floor of the Forum Shops is the best sushi I've had in Vegas. It is pricey, but super fresh. IMO if your going to eat sushi in the middle of the desert, freshness is the most important quality to look for.
The ratio of people to cake is too big.

Yeah! Fresh fish in the desert seems impossible, doesn't it! I haven't tried that sushi restaurant, but I've gotten very fresh, very good sushi at RA Sushi at Fashion Show mall. Has anyone tried Ah Sin at Paris? I was walking past it the other night at like 6:00 pm and it was nearly empty. Mon Ami Gabi, next door, was full. What's the deal? Is it really bad? Is it overpriced? Maybe no one wants to eat sushi at a French place?

Bradley Ogden does a $29 prix fixe in the bar that I've heard good things about. $29 for salad, burger or fish, and cookies. Only $15 "real money" if you use your reward credits, and it's a Michelin one-star.

I was there Thursday and ate breakfast at the buffet. I was not that impressed. I expected a lot more choices. Basically it was just eggs, potatoes, toast, and bacon. It was filling but very basic.

Are you talking about the LAGO? We have stayed at Caesars 8-10 times, the last time in December and have found the LAGO to have a wide selection of fresh, good quality food. Everything from the made to order omelets to fresh fruit, waffels, pancakes, french toast, shrimp, lox, several choices of meat, salad and pastries. As a side note, we have never eaten anything there but the breakfast or brunch.

The seven buffets on the pass are:
Le Village Buffet inside Paris or
Planet Hollywood's Spice Market Buffet,
Flamingo's Paradise Garden Buffet,
Flavors, The Buffet at Harrah's,
Lago Buffet at Caesars Palace
Emperor's Buffet at Imperial Palace
Rio's Carnival World Buffet
The seafood buffet at Rio is not include. Bally's and Bill's do not have a buffet, but it's a short walk.

Yes Lago, it was very basic. One other person commented on it also. No eggs bennidict, 1 person(huge line making eggs 1 order at a time), I would have thought Lago would have had a huge selection, not just the basic breakfast. It was very clean and had fresh OJ, grapefruit juice, and very good tomato juice(my three favorites). RIO had everything in the world.

Eggs bennidict is also one of my favorites. I always get it at the buffet at Beau Rivage in Biloxi. We have gotten into a rut staying at Caesars and LAGO is so convinent. We have already decided to stay somewhere else on the next trip and will try some other places for breakfast, RIO for one.

I tried the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars today for lunch. It was good, well above average, but I wouldn't care to pay such a price more than once.
The service was great. a Spanish couple seated next to me asked for and got a Spanish-speaking waitress. Dirty plates flew away unnoticeably, and all drink orders arrived promptly (two sodas, one coffee).
The food itself is, as I said, above average. But so is the food at the Rio and MSS buffets (and the latter has a gorgeous, bright and airy dinning room), but for a much lower price. The variety is well above average, and might make the price worth it.
Notables:
Sweet and Sour Soup. I love it, and I don't see it often. It was a real treat to find it here.
Pickled white ginger.
Wasabi
Hummus and pita bread (real bread, not chips)
The desserts are delicious. I tried the carrot cake, red velvet cake, sugarless creme brulee and a chocolate and peanut butter mini-cupcake. The last one was amazing, and I do mean amazing. It has a tiny Reese's peanut butter cup on top. The cupcake itself is chocolate, the frosting is rich and creamy and tastes like peanut butter. They should sell the frosting.
Disappointments:
Just one. At the Mexican station they had chicharrones. They looked good and smelled ok, but were as touch as reinforced concrete. I couldn't eat more than a small piece, and it tasted rather bland. This is really bad for such an expensive place, especially since they had carnitas, and chicharron s a great complement for carnitas tacos.
I didn't have any, but at the dessert station they have a wide assortment of ice cream, not soft serve. I thought that was clever. i had none because, really, I was a bit chilly due to the AC.
Lastly, coffee is served in a small thermos jar with a spout and handle. it's great having two cups with dessert without having to flag down a server. The coffee was only fair. I've given up looking for really good coffee at any Vegas restaurant.

I was waiting for a review of the new buffet... how was the line to get in and did you feel "rushed" at all to get out?
Years ago Cafe Lago had a piano and bass player there to entertain (I don't remember the name) but it was a nice touch. Anything now?

As I forgot to bring my watch, I'm quite uncertain as to the time I went. cal it almost 1 pm. There were 4 people in line ahead of me. But consider it's the week after a holiday weekend with the expected lowering of the tourist population. I took more time looking around the various stations than waiting in line to get in, pay and be seated.
I did not feel rushed at all, but then I eat somewhat faster when I'm alone. there was a little notice on the receipt that asked not to take more than 2 hours for eating. That strikes me as a long, long time, though perhaps not for a large party. In any case, I saw that on my way out when I wrote a little note to the waitress ("Great service, thanks!" if you all must know).

Blessed silence. Which is my idea of a perfect dining experience.

Somewhat on topic, I noticed yesterday the receipt at the Fremont Paradise Buffet (pretty good steaks, NY strip, on Saturday nights; if only they had lime to go with them!) states the maximum time allowed to eat is 90 minutes. At the McDonald's near the corner of Harmon, there's a sign saying the max allowed time to eat is 30 minutes.

We've stayed at Ceasars twice since they opened the new buffet, havn't eaten there yet. I don't go on vacation to stand in line. I recommend Old Homestead. With the obvious exception of price, I can't think of a negative thing to say about the place.
I have to agree with Nareed about the MSS buffet, great value. MSS also has the coolest casino bar in town.

Has anyone tried Serendipity at Caesars? It's located well outside, almost on the street (almost). I've wondered about getting dessert there a time or two, but usually I don't feel like dessert when I'm in the neighborhood.
Thanks!
