This is a great link to the building and growth of Caesars Palace from its beginning.
http://www.vegastodayandtomorrow.com/cpalace.htm
In the 1st photo rendering it shows the original construction. There is of course the Roman tower with 680 rooms, but also the two 3 story buildings that flank the driveway and fountains. Does anyone know if these two 3 story building were later removed to make way for the growing complex, or do they still exist?
(Alan King once stated about Caesars Palace "I wouldn't say it was exactly Roman - more kind of early Sicilian"."

Vegastodayandtomorrow is a great site, but after spending tons of time on it years ago it seems the author got tired of all the updates. But there is still a lot of fun information there.
Check out the "dreams" page. There were some crazy things planned in the past.
