ShowboatAC-no NYE party-meaning?

According to my sources, Showboat has been informing high level players they will not be throwing a NYE event this year...

I think this might point towards:

1) Showboat being sold so Caesar's can purchase Revel;
2) Just the usual casinos not bothering to go the extra mile for their players


Opinions?

Caesars, Ballys and Harrahs are still having parties and I believe they are trying to move players from Showboat in the event they can actually sell it. But finding that buyer just doesn't seem possible. I find it hard to find any legitimate company wanting to move into AC. If they did, Trump Plaza would be cheaper and has a good location if not much else.

I'd be shocked if all 4 CZR properties in AC held holiday parties, and Showboat is the one I'd be least interested (by far) in attending. Are they telling high level players to pound sand, or are they telling them to look for an invite from Caesars or Harrahs instead?
