Quote: rdw4potusI should stay at the Quad, right? That's the best option there?
If that's $160 per night, you're joking, right?

Yeah...that's way too much for the Quad. Are you renting a car for this trip? If so, I would vote for GVR. If not, gulp, Quad I guess. Depends on how much you value being on the strip.
my dog with me and they accept pets. $600 for 6 nights
with a Total Rewards card.
I'm half-tempted to stay at Quad and see what they've done to upgrade/change the place.
But, mostly, I'm wondering where the value is for all the time I spend at Harrah's Philadelphia. Caesars properties are known for not giving reward credits as fast as other properties. People (including me) have defended them by pointing out the room offers that they give that others don't. Now that I actually have occasion to use such an offer, the rates are uncomfortably high. Honestly, paying $160/night for a room will more than halve my gambling budget for the 3 day weekend. I just wasn't prepared to see those rates, and now I don't quite know what to do.

Wait...did I miss something? Are you coming to Vegas next month??

for that weekend I could rent a small car for $70 from Friday 24th to Monday 27th all fees included

Yeah, I'm quite disappointed for you about the lack of cheap rates. I hope this isn't a sign to how the future is going to be with TR...first resort fees, if they stop giving out cheap/free rooms on the strip I will have absolutely no reason to gamble at their casinos.

I never say when I'll be there until after I've
been there. Taking my dog is a hell of a lot
cheaper than boarding him.
Quote: djatcFree night + rental car = winning. Quad's fees seem kinda excessive..... it's the Quad!
Using Total Rewards made up for the fee's. Instead of $660,
it was $600.

Yeah, but you should be booking with TR 99% of the time anyway. As a low roller I am definitely miffed with CET's new fees.
Quote: MrPapagiorgioI think I may have missed something in your post, why is Red Rock and GVR free?
Stations loves me more than Caesars Entertainment does?
Quote: rdw4potusI'm making the last of my WOVcon arrangements today. I just checked my offers with Stations and the Caesars properties. The rates above reflect accurate offers for the period from 5/24-5/27/2013 from both chains as of 5:20pm EDT today, 4/11/13. I should stay at the Quad, right? That's the best option there?
Both Red Rock and GVR are very comfortable and classy. Man, if they're showing you love, grab it. Think of the $$$ you're saving for the Vegas action!

Your Caesar's offers are outrageously bad. It must be that your credits earned in Philadelphia do not translate into Vegas offers, for some reason. I only go to Vegas once or maybe twice a year, and I'm a mid-roller when I'm there. For the period you specify, my offers are fully comped for Flamingo, Bally's, Harrah's and Rio (and Quad, of course, but I wouldn't even stay there for free), and a small charge of $20-40 per night for Paris or Caesar's. This is actually the best offer I've seen for Caesar's Palace, so I'm confident that there's no big event going on that weekend which is taking up all the rooms. The room offers through Total Rewards really are quite good, but maybe you have to earn them in Vegas to spend them in Vegas?

What kind of room at the Quad? Are you checking out the 27th or 28th?
But if you don't have good offers, you can often do better here.

I was able to lower the price to $303 + taxes/fees with or without my TR card.
All this being said, I snap book the offstrip stuff unless you are looking to drink heavily every night there, and even then you can probably cab/shuttle back to the hotel to/from the strip for cheaper.
Wish I could be there, but memorial day really priced me out. I am staying Friday/Saturday on Mother's Day weekend at the Quad for $96.75 total with taxes included; other days I'm going to try to use MyVegas rewards. I booked the room on Feb. 28th to avoid a resort fee, but I actually booked the flight today though...lol
And FYI, there is no good reason to stay at the Quad for the "changes"; they aren't even touching the hotel rooms. So just visit the place. Hell, I'll probably regret staying there for $48/nt on the weekend thanks to the construction.

The cost of staying seems too excessive. Take the free hotels (RR or GVR), throw an extra 100 bucks a day on black and call it a day!
